Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Isaias Espinoza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Reyes Bucanerro!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Jorge Garcia and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bucanerro fails to land the takedown.
Bucanerro dives in and grabs Espinoza's left leg, looking for a takedown. Espinoza pushes down on Bucanerro's head and hops out.

Espinoza closes the distance and clinches.
The referee is keeping an eye on Espinoza - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Espinoza jumps into guard, dragging Bucanerro to the mat.
Espinoza pulls Bucanerro in close to prevent any damage.
Bucanerro controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Espinoza controlling the position.
Bucanerro wants to pass the guard but Espinoza is keeping the position.
Bucanerro pushing down on Espinoza's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Bucanerro not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Espinoza avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Bucanerro.
Bucanerro passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Espinoza!
Espinoza wants to hold on but Bucanerro pushes him away.

Bucanerro is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Espinoza can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Bucanerro prevents Espinoza from getting the reversal.

Bucanerro misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bucanerro has control of Espinoza's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Espinoza regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Bucanerro sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bucanerro thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Espinoza is trying to escape the mount.
Espinoza tries to hold on but Bucanerro postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Bucanerro controlling the pace for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Reyes Bucanerro dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Bucanerro will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Bucanerro closes the distance and clinches.

Bucanerro jumps guard.
Espinoza has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Bucanerro working for a triangle but Espinoza defends it easily.

Espinoza in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Bucanerro is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Espinoza wants to stand but Bucanerro is controlling his posture from full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Espinoza decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Bucanerro makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Espinoza is looking to clinch but Bucanerro is avoiding it.

Bucanerro gets a clinch.
Espinoza tries to circle away but Bucanerro has him pinned against the cage.
Espinoza fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Bucanerro lands a nice elbow from the clinch.


It looks like Isaias Espinoza has been cut.

Bucanerro breaks the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bucanerro circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Espinoza drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Bucanerro follows Espinoza to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Reyes Bucanerro!
