Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thurman Patton (ranked 24244 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dex Rowbottom (ranked 6174 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Thurman Patton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dex Rowbottom! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Matti Vanhoillinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rowbottom shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Rowbottom closes the distance and clinches up with Patton, looking for a takedown. Rowbottom pushes Patton against the cage but Patton circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Rowbottom fails with the takedown. Patton was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Thurman Patton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dex Rowbottom. Rowbottom fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Patton, pushing him back against the cage. Rowbottom jumps guard but Patton stands there with Rowbottom around his waist. Rowbottom gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Rowbottom goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Patton letting Rowbottom take a breather here. Rowbottom breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Rowbottom with a lazy takedown attempt and Patton cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rowbottom gets in close and instigates a clinch. Patton tries to pull guard but Rowbottom won't allow it.
Rowbottom wants a takedown but no success here.

Rowbottom jumps guard but Patton turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Patton tries to pull guard but Rowbottom won't allow it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Rowbottom wants to take the fight to the mat but Patton manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Rowbottom tries to pull guard but Patton won't allow it.

Patton jumps guard and drags Rowbottom to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Patton has his foot on Rowbottom's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rowbottom works his way back into a safe position though. Rowbottom wants to control from the top but Patton keeps moving. Rowbottom postures up.
Patton has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rowbottom can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Rowbottom stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Patton swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rowbottom preventing the sweep. Rowbottom has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Patton is proving hard to escape from. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Patton wants to hit a switch here but Rowbottom passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Patton there! Patton trying desperately to get to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Rowbottom unloads with some shots from mount but Patton bucks and avoids them well.
Rowbottom trying to control but Patton is having none of it. You get the feeling that Patton really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Patton sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Patton trying to hold on to Rowbottom's head to control him but Rowbottom postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Patton is staying active underneath Rowbottom, who seems content to just control the action from this position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Dex Rowbottom will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Rowbottom clinches up against the cage. Rowbottom putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Patton in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Patton is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Rowbottom is pressed up against the cage. Patton has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rowbottom down to the mat. Rowbottom avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Rowbottom doesn't succeed with the takedown and Rowbottom takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Rowbottom closes the distance and clinches up with Patton, looking for a takedown. Rowbottom pushes Patton against the cage but Patton circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Rowbottom has a takedown stuffed. Thurman Patton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dex Rowbottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rowbottom shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Patton defends it nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Patton feints and as Rowbottom raises his hands in defense, Patton changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Rowbottom has his feet on Patton's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Dex Rowbottom seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rowbottom throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Patton was covering up waiting for the punch and Rowbottom finishes the takedown easily into guard. Patton kicks Rowbottom off and gets to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rowbottom misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rowbottom lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Rowbottom shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Patton sprawls well. Patton wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rowbottom gets slowly back to his feet. Rowbottom is breathing heavily. Patton leaves Rowbottom with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rowbottom stuffs the takedown attempt from Patton. Patton gets slowly back to his feet. Patton shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rowbottom but Rowbottom pushes him off and we're back to square one. Patton shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Patton showed some decent athleticism there. Patton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Rowbottom gets full guard. Patton not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Patton tries to stand but Rowbottom is controlling from the bottom. Patton controlling from the top position. Patton in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Rowbottom avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Rowbottom wants to sweep here but Patton controlling him for the moment. Patton wants to stand and escape but instead Rowbottom has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Dex Rowbottom will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Rowbottom will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Rowbottom closes this distance looking for a takedown but Patton circles away. It looked like Patton wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Patton clinches up with Rowbottom and pushes him back against the cage. Patton jumps guard and drags Rowbottom to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Patton is pulling down on Rowbottom's head to control his posture. Rowbottom trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Patton working for a triangle but Rowbottom defends it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rowbottom looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Rowbottom tries to stand and escape but Patton is controlling the position. Dex Rowbottom has got the better of the ground game so far. Rowbottom stops Patton from getting back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Patton is trying to control but can't.
Rowbottom looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Rowbottom closes the distance and clinches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Patton jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rowbottom walks away with a smile on his face. Patton gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Rowbottom is trying hard to land a takedown here. Patton sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Patton is looking to counter punch. Thurman Patton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dex Rowbottom. Rowbottom closes the distance and pushes Patton back into the cage. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Rowbottom just misses with a elbow thrown towards Patton's brow. Rowbottom tries to score a body lock takedown but Patton shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Rowbottom tries for a takedown but Patton manages to get underhooks.
Rowbottom takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Rowbottom avoids the elbow strike from Patton, against the cage.
Patton is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Rowbottom to keep the fight standing. Rowbottom tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Patton is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Patton pulls Rowbottom into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Patton manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rowbottom manages to get himself to full guard.
Patton trying to control the position from guard on top but Rowbottom is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rowbottom working a defensive guard but Patton manages to pass into side control anyway.
Rowbottom takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Rowbottom tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Patton avoids the attempt from Rowbottom to control. Thurman Patton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dex Rowbottom is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Patton lands a big shot there that rocks Rowbottom but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
And that's the end of the fight! Thurman Patton showed his dominance in that final round. I think Rowbottom has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
