Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hud Vash (ranked 1378 p4p, 146 weight class) and Ricardo Alvarez (ranked 1933 p4p, 201 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hud Vash!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Alvarez!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Micheangelo Fripello and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

The fighters circle momentarily. Vash darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Vash stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Vash wants it to stay on the feet.
Vash looks to score with a jab to the body but Alvarez is just out of range.
Alvarez drops his hands momentarily and Vash takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Vash definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Vash ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Hud Vash seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Alvarez feints and as Vash raises his hands in defense, Alvarez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That was a close round but I would say that Hud Vash will probably get the nod.

Ricardo Alvarez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Vash has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Alvarez drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Alvarez seems to have locked his on tight now - Vash screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Alvarez, as he picks up the win!

Ricardo Alvarez decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
