Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josey Wales (ranked 4469 p4p, 528 weight class) and Ben Wallace (ranked 3477 p4p, 436 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ben Wallace! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wallace rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Wales counters with a lovely straight right hand! Wallace looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Wales misses with a straight right. Wallace looks like he wants to counter punch here. A left lands for Wallace. Wales connects with a jab. Wales throws a shot from downtown. Wallace moves away and avoids it. Wallace bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Wales misses the jab. Wallace lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Wales fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Wallace on the side of the head. Josey Wales seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wales throws a shot from downtown. Wallace moves away and avoids it. Wales throws an off balance right hand
and Wallace counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Wallace throws a combination that misses and Wales counters with a straight right hand. Wallace slips under a jab. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Nice shot lands for Wallace. Wales slips a jab from Wallace.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wallace thuds a left hand into Wales's body. Wales throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Wallace sees it coming and avoids it easily. Wales gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Wallace bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Wales misses with a left hand enabling Wallace to counter with a crisp jab. Wallace lands a nice hook to Wales's body. Wales takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Wallace swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Wales counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. A looping hook to the body misses from Wales. Wallace does a little dance to reset his feet. Wallace swings for the body but Wales moves out of range.
Wales was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Wales throws out a loose jab but Wallace uses good head movement to avoid it. Wallace throws out a counter right but Wales avoids it with no problem.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wales lands a nice shot that snaps Wallace's head back.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wales shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Wales is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Wales is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Wallace. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Wallace! But no joy. Wales misses with a shot to the body and Wallace counters with a big uppercut that knocks Wales off his feet! Wallace dives into side control looking to finish!
Wales is rocked! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wales is trying to escape the position but Wallace is controlling the position. Wales is trying to get back to his feet. The referee asks Wallace politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Wallace prefers to stall for the moment though. Wales tries to improve position but can't. Wallace is looking to take a break and control but Wales is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Wales is trying to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wallace staying calm. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Wales is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Wallace off and has taken his back! Wallace is really stuck here.

Wales throwing wild punches that miss their target. Wales is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Wallace is defending well though. A close round but Ben Wallace will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Wales fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Wallace manages to avoid it. A slow jab from Wales misses its intended target. Wallace swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Wallace scores with a crisp jab that stopped Wales in his tracks. Wallace blocks a jab. Wales looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Wales on the wrong end of a nice jab. Wallace uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Wales. Wallace is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. and Wallace cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Wallace misses with a two punch combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wales with a body punch. A glancing blow. Wallace doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Wales dodges the punch combination from Wallace.
Wallace throws a body punch but Wales moves out of range. Wales throws a right hand that misses
and Wallace counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends Wales down! Wallace is looking to finish but Wales is intelligently defending himself. Oh Wales is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Wales is looking for a triangle here but Wallace uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Wales tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Wallace wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Wales seems to have got his legs back now. Wallace decides to stand back up. Wallace steps back and let's Wales get back to his feet. Wallace misses with a looping left.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wallace moves forwards but Wales connects with a nice, crisp jab. Wales is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Wallace scores with a jab. Wales acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Wales ducks under a wild hook from Wallace. Wales throws a jab when Wallace was well out of range. Wallace scores with a jab. Wales acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Wallace drops Wales with a big left hand and mounts him. Wales is in big trouble! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wales is squirming around, avoiding Wallace's attempts to control the action. Wallace really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wales. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Wallace avoids the attempt from Wales to control. Wallace controlling the pace for now.

Wallace trying to control but he's not successful this time. Wales is trying to reverse the position but instead Wallace has taken his back - oops! You can see the frustration on Wales's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Wallace has good solid back control here. Wales is trying to get back to his feet but Wallace has full control of the position and if anything, Wales has just worked his way into a worse spot. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ben Wallace showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wallace moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Wales goes down! Can Wallace finish him!? The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wallace wants to control from the top but Wales keeps moving. Wallace slips nicely into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wallace wants to take a breather but Wales is having none of it. Wallace content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Wallace is trying to control. Wales wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Wales tries to get to full guard but Wallace has control of the leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Wallace trying to control the action but Wales is working from the bottom. Wales looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Wallace uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Wales. Despite the aggression on Wallace's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Wales scores with a sloppy right hand. Wallace should have avoided that one. Wallace misses with a body shot.
It looked like Wales wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Wales misses with a lunging right hand
and Wallace counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Wales throws a shot from downtown. Wallace moves away and avoids it. Wallace avoids the body shot from Wales.
Josey Wales has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wales throws a hook but Wallace avoids it easily. Wallace jabs Wales to the body, keeping him at a distance. Wallace drops Wales with a left and a right! Oh, Wales is hurt - Wallace dives into side control looking to finish!
It looks like Josey Wales has been cut. Wallace thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. A lull in the action here as Wallace stalls from top position. Wales tries to escape but Wallace is in control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Wales looks to move to half guard but instead Wallace has passed into mount! Damn! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wallace trying to control but he's not successful this time. Ben Wallace is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Wales is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

And that's the end of the fight! Ben Wallace comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Wallace has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
