Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Geny lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Geny pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Scott seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Geny looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Geny drops back looking for a leg! Scott is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Scott manages to kick Geny off! Geny jumps back into Scott's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Scott's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Scott wants to control but Geny passes easily into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Geny connects with a nice short shot to Scott's temple.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Geny wants to pass to mount but Scott is defending the position.

Scott knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Geny on the ground.
Scott is looking to control Geny's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Scott avoid being mounted?
Scott could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Geny tries to pass to full mount but Scott defends it.
Geny is taking a breather. Scott says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Geny manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Scott on his heels. He'll look to pass Scott's guard now, I'm sure.
Geny is working Scott over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Geny is fighting to break Scott's control of his arms but Scott is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Geny has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Geny is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Birbink Geny dominated that round.
That's time! Scott's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Geny misses with a double jab.
A quick step to the side and Scott tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Geny closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Geny seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Scott does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Birbink Geny has got the better of the ground game so far.

Geny cracks Scott with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Geny wants to control the pace but Scott is squirming around nicely.

Geny lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Scott hang on?

Geny lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Scott tries to hold on but Geny pushes him away.
Scott reaches up to try and control the position but Geny seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Scott rolls and tries to escape and now Geny has his back!

Geny lands shots from the back.
Scott is rocked!
Geny working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Scott is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Geny has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Scott taps out!
