And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miglis bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Miglis gets the takedown into side control.
Hoost Jr dodges the ground and pound from Miglis.
Hoost Jr is trying to get back to half guard.
Sloppy strikes there by Miglis.
Miglis tries to score with some ground and pound. Hoost Jr controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Miglis has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Hoost Jr can't escape the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Miglis is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Hoost Jr can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Hoost Jr is wriggling around trying to escape.

Miglis with the ground and pound from mount.
Miglis controlling the pace for now.
Hoost Jr tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Miglis scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Hoost Jr is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Hoost Jr wants to hold on but Miglis pushes him away.
Miglis tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Miglis get's back to his feet.

Miglis scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Miglis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Miglis postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Hoost Jr to stand up.
Hoost Jr tries for a takedown but Miglis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Miglis throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hoost Jr connects with a nice looking jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hoost Jr shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Miglis counters with a left and a right that stings Hoost Jr.
Miglis looks gassed!

Hoost Jr has his takedown stuffed

and Miglis counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hoost Jr!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ernesto Hoost Jr. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Miglis has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Hoost Jr's face.
Miglis can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hoost Jr is looking to escape.
Hoost Jr holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Miglis tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Miglis trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Miglis tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hoost Jr is desperately trying to improve his position but Miglis has a good base and remains in mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Miglis has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Hoost Jr is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Miglis yanks on the arm and Hoost Jr is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Miglis.
