Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stefano Gorlero (ranked 2917 p4p, 265 weight class) and Aleks Breznhev (ranked 3929 p4p, 333 weight class). Breznhev has chosen Death Grips - No Love as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Stefano Gorlero! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aleks Breznhev! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Hirohito Nitta and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Breznhev throws a hook but Gorlero blocks it. Gorlero looks to score with a jab to the body but Breznhev is just out of range. Aleks Breznhev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gorlero tries to score a power double leg takedown but Breznhev sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gorlero somewhat. Gorlero tries to clinch but Breznhev moves out of range. Breznhev shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gorlero napping and manages to drive through into side control! A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Gorlero struggling a bit here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gorlero tries to buck Breznhev off but Breznhev is having none of it. Breznhev tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Gorlero is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Breznhev is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Breznhev controlling his opponent. Gorlero wants to hold on but Breznhev pushes him away. Gorlero bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Breznhev avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Breznhev wants to sweep here but Gorlero controlling him for the moment. Breznhev looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Gorlero is looking to work some ground and pound but Breznhev has wrist control. Gorlero looking to pass the guard. Gorlero postures up in Breznhev's guard and throws a big left but Breznhev blocks it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Breznhev not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Breznhev had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gorlero defends it easily. Breznhev is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gorlero is aware though and is defending well. Gorlero throws a big elbow that misses. Gorlero is looking to work some ground and pound but Breznhev has wrist control. Breznhev keeping moving, preventing Gorlero from controlling successfully. Gorlero postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Breznhev is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Gorlero passes easily into side control. Nice work. Gorlero works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gorlero advances nicely into full mount. Breznhev is desperately trying to improve his position but Gorlero has a good base and remains in mount. Gorlero can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Breznhev is looking to escape. Gorlero misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Gorlero throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Gorlero avoids the attempt from Breznhev to control. Breznhev is looking to improve his position but Gorlero isn't that keen on the idea. Breznhev regains half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Breznhev gets back to full guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gorlero is pushing down on Breznhev's leg trying to pass to half guard. Breznhev is fighting to maintain full guard but Gorlero has managed to sneak the leg through. Breznhev trying to control from the bottom.

Gorlero scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Gorlero lands a nice hook to Breznhev's body. Breznhev takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. We've been told by Gorlero's head coaches at The Hall of Legends that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Gorlero tries to close the distance and clinch up but Breznhev swats him away and circles back towards the center. Gorlero dives in and grabs Breznhev's left leg, looking for a takedown. Breznhev pushes down on Gorlero's head and hops out. Breznhev changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Breznhev closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gorlero did well to prevent Breznhev getting side control. Breznhev drops an elbow to the side of Gorlero's head. Breznhev is taking a breather. Gorlero says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Gorlero is looking for a sweep. Breznhev is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Breznhev working over Gorlero with some ground and pound. Gorlero looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Breznhev is looking for a kimura here.

Gorlero has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Breznhev is in the full mount, landing strikes. Gorlero is squirming around, avoiding Breznhev's attempts to control the action. Gorlero is in a horrible position here. Breznhev smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Aleks Breznhev showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Breznhev works Gorlero's body with a nice hook. Gorlero throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Breznhev was covering up waiting for the punch and Gorlero finishes the takedown easily into guard. Gorlero throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Gorlero sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Breznhev's guard. Breznhev is trying to get back to full guard. Breznhev has his hands clasped together around Gorlero's back. He's all about the action. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gorlero is looking for a kimura but Breznhev is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gorlero to get the leverage. Gorlero thumps the canvas. That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Breznhev has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Gorlero escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Gorlero! Breznhev dodges the ground and pound from Gorlero. Gorlero tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Gorlero seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Breznhev controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Breznhev trying to control but Gorlero is working from the bottom. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Gorlero is trying to control the position but Breznhev postures up. Gorlero working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Breznhev.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
And that's the end of the fight! Stefano Gorlero showed his dominance in that final round. I think Gorlero has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
