Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sol Kwon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Adi Dassler! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Hirohito Nitta and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dassler shoots for a double leg takedown but Kwon sprawls well. He's pushed Dassler's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Kwon appears to be looking for a big counter. Dassler has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dassler is defended easily by Kwon. Oooooh!!! Kwon has knocked Dassler down with a huge combo! Kwon steps away and waves a wobbly Dassler back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Dassler is rocked!
It looks like Adi Dassler has been cut. Kwon throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Dassler stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Dassler is still on wobbly legs! Can Kwon finish him? Dassler looks winded! Kwon connects with a body shot that sends Dassler's belly button to the back. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dassler takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Kwon drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Dassler's head, knocking him out cold! Kwon is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Sol Kwon! An out of breath Sol Kwon thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
