The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vieira shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Fernandes's guard.
Vieira is in close to Fernandes's body, working some short punches and elbows.
It looks like MIke Fernandes has been cut.
Vieira is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Vieira throwing strikes but missing.
Vieira is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Fernandes is trying to control the position but Vieira postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vieira postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
