Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Soul Rebel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Huerfanito Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Soul Rebel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Huerfanito Garcia!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rebel rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Garcia moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Rebel misses with a takedown attempt - Garcia sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Rebel tries to close the distance and clinch up but Garcia swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Rebel fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Garcia, pushing him back against the cage.

Rebel tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Rebel has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Garcia is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Soul Rebel. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rebel is looking to control Garcia's arms but Garcia gets an underhook and turns him. Now Rebel has his back to the cage.
Rebel jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Garcia walks away with a smile on his face. Rebel gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Garcia is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Rebel pulls his head out easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rebel has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Garcia has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Rebel tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Garcia.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Rebel is working for a kimura but Garcia is defending it quite comfortably.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rebel scoring with strikes to the body and head.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Rebel moves into range and clinches up with Garcia.

Rebel has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Garcia is trying to keep an underhook but Rebel manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Rebel could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Garcia is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Rebel pulls his head out easily.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Rebel closes the distance and clinches.
Garcia tries for a takedown. No joy.
Rebel prevents a takedown attempt there.

Garcia escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rebel gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Rebel throws a head kick but Garcia moves out of range.
Rebel tries to clinch but Garcia is having none of it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Garcia escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rebel gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Rebel stands and throws Garcia's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Soul Rebel overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Garcia is looking to reverse the position.
Garcia is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Rebel is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Rebel is working for a guillotine from mount but Garcia frees his head quite easily.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Rebel tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Garcia swivels and escapes.

Rebel closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Garcia tries to roll over but Rebel keeps him under control.

Rebel can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Garcia is looking to escape.

Rebel throws a chopping leg kick but Garcia manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Rebel fails with an attempt to clinch.
Garcia keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

and Rebel counters by moving into the clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Garcia drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Rebel gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Garcia drops back, looking for a kneebar! Rebel looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Rebel looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Rebel!
Garcia seems a little lost for a moment, as Rebel dominates the positioning.

Garcia tries to bench press Rebel off him but Rebel keeps the position.

Rebel is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Garcia has escaped the position, nice work there.
Garcia manages to work his way to half guard, despite Rebel's best efforts.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Huerfanito Garcia has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Soul Rebel is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rebel, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
