Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Maxwell Booker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Raymundo Sweeney! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Sandra Marshall and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sweeney misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Booker.
Booker half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Booker gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Sweeney. Booker seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Sweeney connects with a solid leg kick. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Sweeney!

Sweeney will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Booker drops down looking for a counter takedown but Sweeney sprawls and moves away. Booker uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sweeney.
Sweeney connects with a good right hand that stumbles Booker. Booker circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Sweeney turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Sweeney works Booker's body with a nice hook. Sweeney ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sweeney connects with a crisp jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sweeney bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Donk. Sweeney catches Booker right on the button with a cross. Booker shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Booker lands a nice short elbow. Sweeney looks like he's trying to stand up.
Booker tries to pass the half guard into mount. Sweeney knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Sweeney is trying to control but can't.
Booker prevents Sweeney from improving his position. Sweeney trying to hold on to Booker's head to control him but Booker postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Booker lands a nice short elbow. Booker working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Booker lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Booker connects with a nice short shot to Sweeney's temple. Booker wants to work for an arm triangle but Sweeney is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Booker is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sweeney doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Booker. Sweeney is trying to get back to full guard. Sweeney trying to control from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sweeney tries to get to full guard but Booker has control of the leg. Booker scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Booker landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Sweeney is looking to control Booker's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sweeney avoid being mounted? Booker lands with a punch from half guard. Sweeney wants to get back to full guard. Sweeney wants to control but Booker passes into side.
Sweeney is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Booker's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Booker! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Sweeney has tapped! This one is allllll over!
