Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Peter Narz (ranked 964 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luiz Correia Azevedo (ranked 789 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Peter Narz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Luiz Correia Azevedo!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Bart Greer and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Narz misses with a body shot.

Azevedo changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Azevedo uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Narz.

Narz fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Azevedo manages to avoid it.
Narz throws the left hand but Azevedo avoids the punch easily.

Azevedo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Azevedo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Narz is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Azevedo, into his guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Narz stands and throws Azevedo's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Narz wants to control but Azevedo is keeping him busy.

Narz swings around for an armbar but Azevedo sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Narz's guard.

Azevedo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Narz, who protects the arm well.

Narz jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Azevedo is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Azevedo and Narz has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

That was a close round but I would say that Peter Narz will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Narz bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Azevedo's guard.


Azevedo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Narz defends it easily.
Narz is pushing down on Azevedo's leg trying to pass to half guard. Azevedo is fighting to maintain full guard but Narz has managed to sneak the leg through.

Azevedo throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Narz escapes and throws Azevedo's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Narz is looking to take a break and control but Azevedo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Narz is really struggling to control Azevedo but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Narz is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Ferocious Beast, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Azevedo might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Narz haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Azevedo moves out of range as Narz strikes.
Narz throws a big shot that misses.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Narz enables Azevedo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Narz manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Narz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Azevedo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Azevedo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Narz isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Azevedo stacks Narz on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Azevedo!

Luiz Correia Azevedo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Narz has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
