Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thor Odinson (ranked 6052 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aldo Shupe (ranked 24012 p4p, 0 weight class). Odinson comes into the arena with U Can't Touch This blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Thor Odinson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Aldo Shupe!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Roger Salmon and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Odinson scores with a jab to the body.
Odinson fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Shupe checks it well.
Shupe keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Odinson.
Odinson sets himself, and Shupe steps forward looking for the clinch! Odinson avoids it this time.

Odinson gets tackled into the cage by Shupe. Shupe maintains the clinch.
Odinson swings away with an uppercut that misses.
A head punch on the inside from Odinson fails to land.
Odinson tries to work over Shupe's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Odinson tries to circle away but Shupe has him pinned against the cage.
Shupe lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Shupe pulls Odinson into guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shupe is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Odinson defends well.
Odinson wants to stand but Shupe is controlling his posture from full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shupe tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Shupe has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Odinson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Shupe escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Odinson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Shupe has a closed guard, preventing Odinson from standing up.
Shupe wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Shupe looking for subs off his back but Odinson has passed one foot through into half guard.

Shupe controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Shupe tries to roll over but Odinson keeps him under control.

Odinson is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Odinson stands up from half guard.
Odinson scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Shupe lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Odinson backs up against the cage.

Shupe closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Odinson to the mat! Odinson manages to get full guard.
Shupe wants to control from the top but Odinson keeps moving.
Shupe prevents Odinson from getting back to his feet.
Shupe looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Shupe postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Odinson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Shupe, into his guard.

Odinson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Shupe is proving hard to escape from.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Odinson wanted to stand there but Shupe had control of the position.

A close round but Aldo Shupe will probably get the nod.

Odinson throws a hook but Shupe blocks it.
Odinson bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Shupe's head backwards.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shupe jumps guard but Odinson turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Shupe is trying to pull guard but Odinson has him pressed against the cage.
Shupe tries a knee to the head but Odinson blocks it.

Thor Odinson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aldo Shupe.
Shupe lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Odinson backwards.
Shupe tries a knee to the head but Odinson blocks it.

Odinson is looking to stand up but Shupe won't let him.

Shupe working for a triangle but Odinson defends it easily.

Shupe working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Odinson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Odinson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Odinson wants to get up but he can't break Shupe's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Shupe looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Odinson has picked Shupe up and slammed him! Shupe can't keep hold of the triangle and Odinson manages to pass to side control!
Shupe is looking for a sweep.
Odinson wants to stand but Shupe has his arm trapped.
Shupe tries to bench press Odinson off him but Odinson keeps the position.
Shupe is trying to control Odinson's posture but Odinson avoids it.
Shupe keeps Odinson under control for a moment.
Shupe is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Odinson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Shupe is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Shupe looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Odinson prevents Shupe from improving his position.
Odinson wants to stand up but Shupe is controlling the position.
Shupe is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Shupe is continuing to stall.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Odinson uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Odinson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Shupe moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Odinson swings widly with a right hand
and Shupe counters with a left and a right that stings Odinson.

Shupe has taken the fight to the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Shupe is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Odinson gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Odinson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Thor Odinson will probably get the nod.
That's time! Odinson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Shupe looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Odinson has picked Shupe up and slammed him! Shupe can't keep hold of the triangle and Odinson manages to pass to side control!

Odinson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Shupe to his feet.

Odinson dips to his left and cracks Shupe with an uppercut!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Shupe.
Odinson tries to escape but Shupe is in control.

Shupe advances to full mount.

Shupe is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Odinson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Odinson shrugs it off.

Shupe has hold of Odinson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Odinson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Shupe goes for an armbar but Odinson turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Odinson.
Shupe pulls Odinson in close to prevent any damage.

Shupe is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Shupe wants to get back to his feet but Odinson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Odinson won't allow Shupe to sweep him here.

Shupe escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Odinson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Odinson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Odinson is looking to stand up but Shupe won't let him.
Aldo Shupe has got the better of the ground game so far.

Shupe has his foot on Odinson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Odinson works his way back into a safe position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Odinson is looking to stand up but Shupe won't let him.

Odinson scores with a sloppy right hand. Shupe should have avoided that one.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Odinson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Shupe fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Shupe fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Odinson, pushing him back against the cage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Shupe pulls guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Aldo Shupe.
I think Shupe has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
