Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between AC Slater (ranked 544 p4p, 76 weight class) and Shape Shifter (ranked 796 p4p, 114 weight class). Slater comes to the cage accompanied by Stop What Ya Doin. AC Slater could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Shape Shifter's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
18 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, AC Slater!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
23 - 16 - 0, fighting out of London, Shape Shifter!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, John Kavanagh and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shifter fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Slater checks it well.
Shifter keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Shifter is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Shifter has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Slater is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Shifter clinches up with Slater and pushes him back against the cage.
Shifter has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Slater is trying to keep an underhook but Shifter manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Slater is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Fight Factory, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Shifter looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Shifter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Slater swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Shifter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Slater swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are working up against the cage. Slater manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Slater pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Slater shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Shifter as he avoids it easily.
Shifter feints a counter leg kick.
Slater looks to land a combination but Shifter avoids it well.
Shifter doesn't manage to clinch there - Slater circles away.
Slater is looking for a counter combo.
AC Slater seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Slater lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
The fight stays on the outside here - Shifter looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Slater scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Shifter doesn't seem bothered though.

Slater fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Shifter avoids it really well and circles away.

Shifter looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Slater with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Slater has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Shifter is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Slater not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Slater's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Slater is in close to Shifter's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Slater landing some decent shots from guard.
Slater wants to control from the top but Shifter keeps moving.
Shifter is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Slater defends well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
AC Slater dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Slater swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Slater backing away here, and Shifter unleashes a leg kick that just misses.

Shifter slips a straight right by Slater.
Slater throws a nice looking combination but Shifter bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Slater shoots in looking for a takedown but Shifter manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Slater's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
AC Slater is winning the standup battle so far.
Shifter looking to score a takedown here. Slater is defending well but Shifter drives through and ends up in Slater's guard.
Slater manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Shifter manages to get himself to full guard.

AC Slater overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Slater arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Shifter's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

AC Slater bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
