Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Williamson!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yukimura Gomi!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomi lands with a slapping head kick.
It looks like John Williamson has been cut.
Williamson forces Gomi back against the cage and clinches.
Williamson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gomi throws a nice looking combination but Williamson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Williamson moves into the clinch.
Williamson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Gomi throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Williamson blocks it with crossed arms.
Williamson takes an elbow to the forehead.
A knee to the head by Gomi.
Gomi unloads a knee to the mid-section. Williamson lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Gomi lands a body shot.
Williamson is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gomi misses with a knee to the head.
Gomi misses with an elbow strike.
Gomi looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Williamson wants to stall.
Gomi misses with a hook to the ribs.
Gomi breaks the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gomi lands a big head kick that sends Williamson tumbling to the mat! Gomi takes a step backwards and waves Williamson back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Williamson is rocked!
Yukimura Gomi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gomi measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Williamson! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
