Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 30 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Daniello Pablo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
27 - 39 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pozar Pozar! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Andrew Berry and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pablo tries for a takedown but Pozar sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Pozar dives in and scores a takedown into Pablo's guard. Pozar tries to free his leg and advance position but Pablo is retaining full guard. Pozar stands up from guard. Let's bang! Pablo fails to land the takedown. Pozar shoots in and bounces Pablo off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Pozar gets to his feet - Pablo follows without any prompting. Pablo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pozar pinned against the cage. Pozar gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Pozar with the counter takedown but Pablo avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniello Pablo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pozar slips a jab and a cross from Pablo.
Pablo sets himself, and Pozar steps forward looking for the clinch! Pablo avoids it this time. Pozar shoots in for a takedown but Pablo shows good takedown defense.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pozar shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pablo as he avoids it easily. Pablo misses with a takedown attempt - Pozar sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Pozar avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Pablo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Pozar to the mat! Pozar manages to get full guard. Pozar pushes Pablo off and gets back to his feet.
Pablo scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Pablo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Pozar shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pablo sprawls well. Pablo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pozar gets slowly back to his feet. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pozar walks into a straight right hand from Pablo.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pablo motions for Pozar to come forward. Pablo throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. A clash of legs there as Pozar blocks the low kick. And Pozar tries to counter it with a takedown but Pablo pushes his down on his head and steps out. A jab from Pablo misses. Pozar closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Pablo did well to prevent Pozar getting side control. Pablo has one foot on Pozar's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Pablo is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Pablo tries to clinch up. Pozar tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Pozar shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pablo's guard. Pozar working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pablo is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Pozar stands up from guard. Let's bang!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pozar pushes Pablo up against the cage in a clinch. Pozar is looking for a takedown. Pablo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Pablo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pozar looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Pozar throws Pablo to one side and escapes! Pozar fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Pablo is looking for a counter combo. Pozar shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Pablo is trying to defend but Pozar finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Pozar in particular looking to stall.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pablo is trying to stand.
Pozar with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Pablo pushes Pozar off looking to stand but Pozar dives back in and keeps control.
Pozar decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Pablo throws a lazy body kick and Pozar counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Pablo kicks off Pozar and gets to his feet. Pablo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pozar paws at him with a jab and circles away. Pozar tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pablo was well out of range. Poor timing from Pozar. Pozar shoots in but no luck this time. Pablo tries a head kick but it misses.
Pablo throws a sloppy head kick and Pozar moves out of range easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Pozar Pozar will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Nice takedown defense from Pablo. No joy for Pozar on that attempt. Pozar forces Pablo back against the cage and clinches. Pozar manages to pull guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Pozar keeping moving, preventing Pablo from controlling successfully. Pozar is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Pozar had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pablo defends it easily. Pozar throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pablo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pozar working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Pablo has passed into half guard!
Pablo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Pozar defends it well. Pablo content to control rather than advance. Pozar gets back to full guard.
Pozar not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Pozar wants to hit a switch here but Pablo passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Pozar there!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pozar somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet! Pozar stuffs the takedown. Pozar changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Nice takedown defense from Pablo. No joy for Pozar on that attempt. Daniello Pablo is winning the standup battle so far. Pablo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pozar moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Pablo shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pozar sprawls well. Pozar wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pablo gets slowly back to his feet. Pozar shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pozar seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Pozar is figuring out what he wants to do next. Pozar Pozar has got the better of the ground game so far. Pablo manages to escape and get back to his feet!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pozar tries to clinch up. Pozar closes the distance and pushes Pablo back into the cage. Pablo pushes Pozar back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Pablo has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Pablo jumps guard but Pozar turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniello Pablo. That's going to take a lot out of him. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Pozar lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Pablo manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Pozar keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Pozar Pozar will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Pozar throws a body kick that misses and Pablo counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Pablo takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Pablo slips a nice elbow through Pozar's hands, connecting with Pozar's forehead. Pablo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pozar does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Pozar missing with punches from the bottom.
Pozar keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Pablo is looking to take a break and control but Pozar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. We've been told by Pablo's head coaches at The Bear's Den ($400) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Daniello Pablo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Pablo pushes Pozar up against the cage in a clinch. Pablo tries to pull guard but Pozar forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Pablo wants to get back to striking at distance but Pozar won't allow it.
Pozar has Pablo pressed against the cage, preventing Pablo from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Pozar is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pozar is struggling to control the position. Pozar gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Pozar pushing down on Pablo's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Pozar is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Pablo blocking the ground and pound attempt from Pozar. Pablo tries to kick Pozar off but Pozar keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pablo on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Pablo is looking to escape. Pozar stalling. Pablo wants to get back to his feet. Pablo is defending against the submission attempts here by Pozar.
Daniello Pablo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Pablo wants to get back to his feet. Well, if Pozar is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Pozar decides to return to a standing position. Pablo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Pozar Pozar is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Pablo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Pozar sees it coming and defends easily. Pozar has his hands clasped together around Pablo's back. He's all about the action. Pozar tries to roll over but Pablo keeps him under control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Pozar is trying to control but can't.
And that's the end of the fight! Daniello Pablo showed his dominance in that final round. I think Pozar has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
