Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mei Shan Wu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Wayne Williams!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shan Wu takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Shan Wu drives through with a takedown into guard.
Shan Wu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Williams swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Williams keeping moving, preventing Shan Wu from controlling successfully.
Williams really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shan Wu. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Shan Wu is really struggling to control Williams but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Williams keeping full guard, as Shan Wu tries to pass.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shan Wu sitting in guard, not really doing much.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shan Wu prevents Williams from getting back to his feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Williams scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


It looks like Mei Shan Wu has been cut.
Williams lands with a straight right. Shan Wu didn't see that one coming.
Williams misses the shot to the body.
Shan Wu went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shan Wu displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Williams throws out the jab.
Wayne Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Williams pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Shan Wu back to the cage. Williams follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Shan Wu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Williams listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.


Shan Wu is rocked!
Shan Wu wants to clinch up but Williams keeps it at a distance.
Williams connects with a jab.
Oh Shan Wu is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shan Wu dives in for a single leg takedown but Williams sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Shan Wu seems to have got his legs back now.

Shan Wu closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Shan Wu lands in his opponent's guard.

Shan Wu stands up from Williams's guard - Shan Wu perhaps looking for a knockout.

Williams feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Shan Wu sprawling to the canvas! Shan Wu rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Williams finish him?!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Williams throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Williams circles away from the clinch attempt.
Shan Wu slips under a jab from Williams.
Shan Wu drops his hands momentarily and Williams takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Some wild striking there from Shan Wu.
Williams has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Williams throws a one two combo.
Williams misses with a looping left.
Williams thuds a left hand into Shan Wu's body.
Williams lunges at Shan Wu with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Shan Wu's hand.
Shan Wu slips a straight right by Williams.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Today's fight clock is brought to you by... OOOH that's a huge shot by Williams! Shan Wu is in big trouble here - the ref steps in to save him and this one is all over!
