0 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kassim Suluhu! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Alexandre Firmino and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Suluhu pushes Dimayuga away with a front kick. Suluhu looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Dimayuga is wriggling around but Suluhu manages to pass to half guard.
Suluhu controlling the action here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dimayuga is trying to escape back to his feet but Suluhu uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Suluhu scores with a couple of short elbows. Suluhu controlling the position. Suluhu cracks Dimayuga with an elbow. That is naaassty.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Suluhu scoring with punches from side control. Suluhu moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Suluhu landing strikes. Suluhu decides to stand back up. Dimayuga misses with a wild body shot. Suluhu shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Dimayuga is wriggling around but Suluhu manages to pass to half guard.
Dimayuga is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nice strikes from Suluhu there. Dimayuga knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Suluhu on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Suluhu is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Let's hope that Suluhu has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Suluhu stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Dimayuga is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight. Dimayuga takes a body punch but keeps moving. Suluhu scores with a takedown into Dimayuga's guard. Suluhu is standing up over Dimayuga. Dimayuga looks to escape but Suluhu dives into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Suluhu scores with punches from side control. Suluhu decides to stand back up. Suluhu steps back and let's Dimayuga get back to his feet. Dimayuga throws a hook but Suluhu blocks it. Suluhu lands a right hook to the body.
Dimayuga gets caught flat footed, as Suluhu shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Dimayuga is wriggling around but Suluhu manages to pass to half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Suluhu controlling the action here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kassim Suluhu dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Suluhu shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Suluhu escapes and gets back to his feet. Suluhu decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Dimayuga wants to stand back up but Suluhu manages to pass into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Suluhu lands a nice forearm strike. Suluhu landing strikes. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Suluhu scores with punches from side control. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Suluhu connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Dimayuga some visible discomfort.
We've been informed that Suluhu has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Suluhu landing strikes. Suluhu landing a few strikes. The referee asks Suluhu politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Suluhu prefers to stall for the moment though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dimayuga takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Kassim Suluhu has got the better of the ground game so far. Suluhu is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Dimayuga's shoulder. That is not cool. Suluhu has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Suluhu has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Dimayuga! Suluhu connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Suluhu breaks from Dimayuga's wrist control and lands an elbow. Dimayuga is in a horrible position here. Suluhu smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Dimayuga is rocked! Suluhu looking to control and managing it successfully. Suluhu is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Dimayuga can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Suluhu looking to finish Dimayuga with some ground and pound. This is bad for Dimayuga! Oh Dimayuga is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Suluhu landing punches. Suluhu lands a nice shot to the head. Suluhu lands with some strikes. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Suluhu cracks Dimayuga with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kassim Suluhu! Kassim Suluhu decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
