Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rafael Vieira (ranked 3054 p4p, 398 weight class) and Paul Poulter (ranked 6027 p4p, 612 weight class). Vieira comes to the cage accompanied by Machine Gun Kelly–Till I Die. Paul Poulter told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rafael Vieira! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
49 - 40 - 2, fighting out of London, Paul Poulter! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Poulter lands a jab to the nose. Poulter has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Poulter there as he acknowledges the shot. Vieira looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Vieira showing good wrestling skills to control the position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vieira accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Vieira makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Poulter manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Vieira manages to get himself to full guard.
Vieira working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Poulter doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Poulter manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Vieira is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Vieira working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. That's one minute gone in the round. Poulter missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Poulter got a little sloppy there for a moment and Vieira has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Poulter has managed to get both his arms back between Vieira's legs - danger averted. Vieira has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Poulter avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Vieira keeping moving, preventing Poulter from controlling successfully. Vieira lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Vieira trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Vieira's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Vieira pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Poulter is keeping the position for now. Vieira trying to control the position from guard on top but Poulter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Vieira tries to free his leg and advance position but Poulter is retaining full guard. Vieira slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vieira throwing strikes from guard but Poulter blocks nicely. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vieira accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Vieira wants to control from the top but Poulter keeps moving. Vieira engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Vieira lands a couple of elbows. Vieira is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Vieira throws a strike but Poulter rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vieira is controlling Poulter's posture. Vieira is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Poulter defends well. Vieira is trying to control the position but Poulter postures up. Vieira has an active guard here but Poulter has managed to pass into half guard.
Vieira moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Vieira looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Vieira looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vieira closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Vieira passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Poulter! Poulter is trying to escape the mount.
Vieira is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Poulter can do to turn this around? Vieira landing strikes from the mount and Poulter is in trouble! Vieira lands a couple of good shots and Poulter has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Vieira misses with punches from the back. Vieira throwing damaging strikes from the back! Poulter could be in trouble here!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Poulter staying busy and making it hard for Vieira to control. Poulter trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Poulter covering up well under a barage of strikes. Poulter is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vieira misses with an elbow to the head. Vieira throws strikes from the back but Poulter rolls nicely and manages to end up in full guard. Nice work by Poulter. Vieira is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Vieira is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Vieira not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vieira trying to control but Poulter is working from the bottom. Vieira looking to pass the guard. Vieira slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Vieira trying to control the position from guard on top but Poulter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Vieira lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vieira pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Poulter is keeping the position for now. Vieira trying to control the position from guard on top but Poulter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Poulter takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Rafael Vieira is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Vieira darts in looking for a takedown but Poulter gets double underhooks and turns Vieira into the cage. Vieira connects with a looping right hand.
Good shot there by Vieira. Vieira lands a head kick. Poulter smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Poulter is rocked! Vieira Throws a clean left jab. Vieira Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Poulter's chin! Poulter crumbles to the ground and Vieira follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Vieira!
