Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Quincy Kirk (ranked 6148 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saitama Ryuuji (ranked 6227 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Quincy Kirk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Saitama Ryuuji!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Fujiwara and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryuuji darts in and clinches Kirk up against the cage.
Ryuuji is trying to break the clinch but Kirk is controlling him.
Ryuuji is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Ryuuji should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Ryuuji has Kirk pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Ryuuji pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Kirk tumbling to the mat - Ryuuji dives into Kirk's guard.
Ryuuji wants to pass the guard but Kirk is keeping the position.
Kirk will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kirk has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ryuuji can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Kirk escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ryuuji gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Ryuuji is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kirk throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Ryuuji escapes and throws Kirk's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Kirk is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Ryuuji's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Kirk is looking to escape.
Kirk really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Ryuuji shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kirk manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kirk thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Ryuuji stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kirk swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kirk tries to kick Ryuuji off but Ryuuji keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ryuuji is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kirk is just riding it out for now. Ryuuji eventually gives up the hold.
Kirk is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ryuuji pulls his head out easily.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Ryuuji closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kirk to the mat! Kirk manages to get full guard.
Kirk working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ryuuji doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ryuuji manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Ryuuji seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Kirk pushes Ryuuji away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Ryuuji gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Saitama Ryuuji has got the better of the ground game so far.

Saitama Ryuuji showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
