Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Magnum (ranked 22892 p4p, 798 weight class) and Gilmar Mendes (ranked 25117 p4p, 813 weight class). Magnum comes to the cage accompanied by I am Stronger. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jackson Magnum! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gilmar Mendes! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendes lands a head kick. Magnum smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
It looks like Jackson Magnum has been cut. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Magnum. Magnum avoids a punch combination nicely.
Mendes gets cracked there but stands up to it.
It looks like Gilmar Mendes has been cut. Mendes throws a sloppy head kick and Magnum moves out of range easily. Mendes looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Mendes misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Mendes. A quick step to the side and Magnum tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Mendes takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Mendes misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mendes tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Magnum seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Mendes showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Magnum.
This has been an exciting period of action! Magnum throws a right and a left that Mendes avoids nicely. Magnum slips under a jab from Mendes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mendes misses with a body kick. Magnum dodges the punch combination from Mendes.

and Magnum counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Gilmar Mendes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mendes throws a head kick but Magnum moves out of range.
Mendes gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Magnum stands and throws Mendes's legs to the side, diving into side control. Magnum decides to stand back up. Magnum steps back and let's Mendes get back to his feet. Magnum rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mendes moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Mendes is looking to stand back up but Magnum counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Mendes. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Magnum stands up from half guard. Magnum lands a left and a right that send Mendes crashing to the mat, dazed. Magnum thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Magnum takes the fight into the clinch. Magnum wants to get back to striking at distance but Mendes won't allow it.
Magnum pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Magnum fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Mendes. The fight moves into the clinch position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Magnum cracks Mendes with a nice body shot. Magnum is stalling here.
Magnum jumps guard and drags Mendes to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Magnum pushes Mendes off and scrambles back to his feet.
Magnum manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Mendes on his heels. He'll look to pass Mendes's guard now, I'm sure. Magnum is pushing down on Mendes's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mendes is fighting to maintain full guard but Magnum has managed to sneak the leg through. Magnum landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Mendes taking some punishment here, with Magnum in his half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Magnum wants to take a breather but Mendes is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Magnum slips a nice elbow through Mendes's hands, connecting with Mendes's forehead. Ground and pound from Magnum. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Magnum with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Mendes taking some punishment here, with Magnum in his half guard. Still in half guard, Magnum seems content to control. Magnum slips a nice elbow through Mendes's hands, connecting with Mendes's forehead. Magnum takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Magnum seems to be looking for submissions.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Magnum goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mendes keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Mendes finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Magnum is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mendes can do to turn this around? Mendes is looking to score with low kicks. Magnum seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Mendes is breathing heavily.

and Magnum cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Mendes crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Magnum - the referee stops the clock and Mendes gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Magnum. Mendes manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Magnum rushes Mendes and presses him up against the cage. Magnum breaks from the clinch.
Magnum throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mendes. Mendes takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Mendes throws a head kick that misses enabling Magnum to counter with a crisp jab. Magnum keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Mendes is rocked! Magnum looks for a takedown but Mendes sprawls well. Mendes is still on wobbly legs! Can Magnum finish him? That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jackson Magnum. That's going to take a lot out of him. Magnum darts in and clinches Mendes up against the cage. Mendes seems to have recovered his senses.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Magnum gets a clinch. Magnum has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Mendes is trying to keep an underhook but Magnum manages to get the takedown into half guard. Mendes has hold of Magnum's hands but Magnum slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Magnum is trying to work for a kimura but Mendes is defending well.

He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
