The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Poller shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Milenov pinned against the cage. Milenov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Poller has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Poller closes the distance and clinches up with Milenov, looking for a takedown. Poller pushes Milenov against the cage but Milenov circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Poller closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Milenov to the mat! Milenov manages to get full guard. Milenov is looking to stand up but Poller isn't so interested in that idea. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Poller stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Milenov swivels though and keeps the full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Poller drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Milenov manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Poller has Milenov in his guard.
Poller working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Milenov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Milenov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round. Milenov preventing the sweep. Poller is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Milenov frees his head nicely. Oh but Poller has switched to an armbar! Milenov is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Jason Poller!
