Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joseph OByrne (ranked 829 p4p, 106 weight class) and Zach Attack (ranked 1996 p4p, 232 weight class). Zach Attack is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joseph OByrne!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zach Attack!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Attack throws a nice looking combination but OByrne bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Attack fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
OByrne scores with a kick to the midsection.
Attack is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Attack tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Attack takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
OByrne looks to land a combination. Attack sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

OByrne will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
OByrne moves out of range of the body kick.
We've been told by OByrne's head coaches at Tosen's Home for Lost Boys that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
OByrne thuds his right hand into Attack's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

OByrne throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
A slapping leg kick lands for OByrne.

Attack's hands are dropping dangerously low here and OByrne connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Attack scrambles back to his feet.
Attack throws a series of punches but OByrne avoids them all with ease.
OByrne is looking for a counter combo.

OByrne rushes Attack and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
OByrne tries a body shot but Attack blocks it.
We've been informed that Attack has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
OByrne blocks a body shot from Attack.
OByrne lands a shoulder strike.

Attack pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
OByrne scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

As Attack backs away, OByrne returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Attack takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
OByrne moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Attack throws a right hand that OByrne ducks under and follows up with a left that OByrne also avoids with ease.
Attack looks to land a combination but OByrne avoids it well.
OByrne looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

OByrne keeps Attack at a distance using the push kick.

OByrne fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Attack has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Attack throws a sloppy head kick and OByrne moves out of range easily.

OByrne ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Attack moves away.
Attack lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Attack throws a body shot but no joy.
Attack throws a nice looking combination but OByrne bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Attack fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
OByrne connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Zach Attack seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Attack misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Attack rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but OByrne moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
An attempted straight right counter from OByrne misses the target.
Attack throws a nice looking combination but OByrne bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
OByrne half committed to a counter leg kick.
OByrne lands a leg kick that knocks Attack off balance momentarily.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Attack.
OByrne moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Attack looks winded!
Attack on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by OByrne. OByrne obviously looking to wear him down.
Attack throws a right hand that misses
and OByrne counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
OByrne closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Attack! OByrne dives in looking to finish! Attack is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joseph OByrne!

Our winner, Joseph OByrne, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
