The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Todd avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Todd shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Alexsej manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Alexsej has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Todd has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Todd takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Todd wants to lay and pray for a moment but Alexsej keeps working.
Alexsej pushes Todd off looking to stand but Todd dives back in and keeps control.
Todd postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Alexsej to stand up.

Todd has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Todd decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
A slapping leg kick lands for Alexsej.

Alexsej wants the takedown. Todd is fighting it off but Alexsej persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Todd's guard against the cage.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Todd is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Alexsej ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Alexsej no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Todd is looking to stand up but Alexsej won't let him.

Alexsej tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Todd manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Todd could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Alexsej shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Todd is trying to defend but Alexsej finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Todd gets his hands free as Alexsej looks to control.

Todd really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Alexsej.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Todd's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
What can Alexsej do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Todd wants to take the fight to the mat but Alexsej manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Alexsej has picked Todd up - he's going for a ride! Alexsej dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

It looked like Todd was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Alexsej has hold of one of Todd's legs. Todd is fighting the takedown attempt but Alexsej gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
