Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mel Gordon (ranked 1803 p4p, 233 weight class) and Rauli Raunio (ranked 1808 p4p, 235 weight class). Gordon comes into the arena with S.O.B. - Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mel Gordon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rauli Raunio!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Raunio connects with a crisp jab.

It looks like Mel Gordon has been cut.
Gordon lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Raunio misses with a looping right.
Gordon goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Gordon bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Raunio has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Mel Gordon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Raunio throws a looping overhand right but Gordon ducks down to avoid it.
Gordon misses with a few strikes there.
Gordon throws a wild body kick that Raunio sees coming a mile off.

Raunio takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Gordon moves in looking to clinch but Raunio pushes him off.
Raunio on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Raunio throws a series of punches but Gordon avoids them all with ease.
Raunio displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Gordon throws out the jab.
Raunio throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gordon moves in looking to clinch but Raunio pushes him off.

Raunio throws an overhand right that lands on Gordon's shoulder, as Gordon tries to avoid the shot.
Gordon loses concentration momentarily and Raunio pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Gordon crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Raunio finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.

A very excited looking Rauli Raunio rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
