Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Dean Poole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Drax Reid!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Richard Clark and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Reid clinches.
Reid has had enough of the clinch but Poole keeps him there for the moment.
Reid wants to break the clinch but can't.
Reid is looking to break free of the clinch but Poole has double underhooks.
A head punch on the inside from Poole fails to land.
Poole stalling the fight.
Reid wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Reid jumps guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Poole missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Poole slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Reid has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Poole has passed into side control.

What's Reid going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.

Poole decides to stand up, so the ref orders Reid to his feet.

Reid throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Poole tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Reid is in Poole's guard.

Reid wants to control from the top but Poole keeps moving.
Poole really is a fat lump.
Reid is stalling in the full guard.

Poole is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Poole might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Reid has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Poole is proving hard to escape from.
Poole is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Reid shoots in and gets a takedown into Poole's guard.

Poole escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Reid gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Poole wants to sweep here but Reid controlling him for the moment.

Poole is working an open guard so Reid takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Reid darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Reid is looking for a kimura here.

Reid decides to stand up.

Poole shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Reid pinned against the cage. Reid gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Reid lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Poole backs up against the cage.


It looks like Dean Poole has been cut.

Reid scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Poole kicks Reid off and gets back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice takedown defense from Reid. No joy for Poole on that attempt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Reid moves into the clinch.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Reid wants to improve his position but instead Poole has moved into half guard.
Reid has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Reid tries to roll over but Poole keeps him under control.

Reid has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Poole is on him like a limpet, forcing Reid back against the cage.

Reid is looking for a kimura here.
Reid tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Poole is trying to control but can't.
Poole is staying active underneath Reid, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Well, if Reid is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Reid. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Reid closes the distance and pushes Poole back into the cage.
The referee is keeping an eye on Reid - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Reid lands with a light punch inside.
Poole is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Reid has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Poole is trying to keep an underhook but Reid manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Poole has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Reid is working away from the top position though.
Reid looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Drax Reid showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Dean Poole's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Reid gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Reid has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Poole is trying to keep an underhook but Reid manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Reid takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Reid dives in and scores a takedown into Poole's guard.
Reid wants to stand but Poole has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Reid stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Poole swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Poole is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Reid is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Reid throws a head kick but Poole moves out of range.

Poole gets caught flat footed, as Reid shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Reid tries to free his leg and advance position but Poole is retaining full guard.
Poole controls Reid momentarily but Reid frees himself.
Poole is really struggling to control Reid but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dean Poole has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Drax Reid is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Poole throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Drax Reid comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Reid has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
