Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hugh Rection!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanich shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rection pinned against the cage. Rection gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Nice takedown defense from Rection. No joy for Sanich on that attempt.

Rection takes the fight into the clinch.

Sanich manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Rection wants to stand and escape but instead Sanich has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Our spies down at at Gym 412-RoaR sponsored training facility inform us that Rection has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Sanich prevents Rection from getting back to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sanich seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rection for as long as he can get away with.

Rection has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Sanich has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Rection lands a right hand that snaps the head of Sanich backwards.

Sanich lands a takedown into guard.
Rection wants to get back to his feet but Sanich is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Rection is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Sanich wants a takedown but no success here.

Rection lands a body shot in the clinch.

Rection lands a nice uppercut.
Sanich's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Rection pushes Sanich back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Rection scores with a shot to the side of Sanich's head.


Sanich is rocked!
Rection lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Oh Sanich is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rection lands a big right hand that drops Sanich! The killer instinct kicks in and Rection finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Rection!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hugh Rection!
After the fight, Hugh Rection was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
