Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rubens Charles (ranked 5005 p4p, 225 weight class) and Mako Takaziko (ranked 23267 p4p, 331 weight class). Rubens Charles could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Mako Takaziko's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rubens Charles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mako Takaziko! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Emerson Jorge and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Charles tries to clinch up but Takaziko circles away and keeps his distance. Takaziko darts in looking for a takedown but Charles gets double underhooks and turns Takaziko into the cage. Takaziko changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Charles tries to avoid it but Takaziko manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Charles to the ground. Charles escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Charles seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Mako Takaziko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Charles is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Takaziko's half guard. Takaziko scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Charles manages to mount him!
Takaziko has given up his back here. Will Charles look for the submission or keep pounding away?
Takaziko is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Charles off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Charles has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Takaziko! Can he survive? No! He's out! Charles gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Rubens Charles! A relieved looking Rubens Charles thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. The defeated Mako Takaziko had this to say: 'Sorry About My Loss Fans'.
