Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Isreal Todd (ranked 7559 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Diaz (ranked 7090 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Ambitionz Az a Ridah. Joey Diaz is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Isreal Todd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joey Diaz! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz fails with an attempt to clinch.
Diaz throws a lazy body kick and Todd counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Todd takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Diaz wants to get back to full guard. Todd decides to stand and escape the position. Diaz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Todd has taken the fight to the clinch.
Todd fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Diaz prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Todd misses with a short punch on the inside. Todd stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Diaz gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Todd trying to control here.
Diaz tries to stand and escape but Todd is controlling the position. Diaz is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Diaz looks winded! Todd trying to control here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Todd is trying is best to control the position here. Todd manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Diaz keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Todd breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Todd throws a hook but Diaz avoids it easily. Todd is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Diaz's half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Todd controlling the action here. Todd throwing shots but Diaz is blocking nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz is trying to get back to full guard. Todd escapes and gets back to his feet. Todd scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Diaz wants to get back to his feet but Todd is dominant here and he's now got Diaz's back! Diaz is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Todd could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Diaz is really stuck here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Todd keeps control of the position easily here as Diaz tries to buck him off.
Todd seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Diaz for as long as he can get away with. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Isreal Todd dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Todd fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Diaz to the ground. Todd is now in Diaz's guard. Diaz is trying to keep Todd in close.
Diaz had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Todd defends it easily. Diaz is trying to keep Todd in close.

That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Todd stands and steps away. Diaz gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Diaz gets tackled into the cage by Todd. Todd maintains the clinch. Todd goes for a takedown attempt but Diaz pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Todd fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Diaz unleashes a big counter combination but Todd bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Diaz misses with a series of wild punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Todd throws Diaz to one side and escapes! Diaz tries to clinch up but Todd circles away and keeps his distance. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Diaz looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Todd has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Diaz has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Todd is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Diaz can do to turn this around? Todd working hard to break the clinch.

Diaz is trying to trip Todd. He has hold of a leg but Todd is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Diaz persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Todd kicks Diaz off and gets to his feet. Isreal Todd is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Todd bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Diaz tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Todd looking to control and managing it successfully. Todd stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Todd gets the takedown into side control. Todd decides to stand up, so the ref orders Diaz to his feet. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Todd is defended easily by Diaz. And Diaz tries to counter it with a takedown but Todd pushes his down on his head and steps out. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Isreal Todd dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Diaz swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
so Todd counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Diaz punching from the bottom - just letting Todd know he's still in a fight. Todd's corner is telling him to maintain position. Diaz controlling the position. Todd gets to his feet - Diaz follows without any prompting. Todd circles away from the clinch attempt and Todd counters with a takedown into side control. Isreal Todd overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Diaz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Todd decides to stand back up. Todd steps back and let's Diaz get back to his feet. Todd shoots in looking for a takedown but Diaz manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Todd's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Diaz shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Diaz was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Todd sneaks out the side door and pushes Diaz away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Todd scores with a head kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Todd slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Todd decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Diaz, up you get! Todd is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Diaz drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Todd throws Diaz to one side and escapes!

Todd decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Diaz tries to roll over but Todd keeps him under control. Diaz wants to get back to full guard but Todd has passed into side control. Todd controlling the position from side mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Todd stands up. Joey Diaz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Isreal Todd is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Todd closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Todd lands in his opponent's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Isreal Todd showed his dominance in that final round. Well Todd has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
