PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roger Kint (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Travis McGee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kint comes to the ring accompanied by White Zombie - Thunderkiss '65. The key to victory for Roger Kint has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Roger Kint!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Travis McGee!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGee fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Kint tries to clinch but McGee is having none of it.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Kint pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Kint gets caught flat footed, as McGee shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Kint looking to control.
McGee passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Kint is looking to reverse the position.
McGee trying to control the position but Kint is working away.
McGee in side control lands a decent elbow.
Kint is looking to reverse the position.

McGee takes a little break here. Kint wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
McGee has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Kint is in all sorts of trouble here.

Kint tries to hold on but McGee postures up.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Kint is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

McGee throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Kint is working to get back to half guard.
McGee with a couple of short strikes.
Kint is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Kint wants to try and get back to his feet.

McGee looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Kint is desperately trying to improve his position but McGee has a good base and remains in mount.
Kint regains half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
McGee is tying to control. Kint wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Kint trying to control but McGee postures up.
Kint tries to get to full guard but McGee has control of the leg.

McGee is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kint sees it coming and defends easily.
McGee prevents Kint from improving his position.
Kint wants to control but McGee is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Kint kicks McGee off and gets back to his feet.

Kint drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kint working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Travis McGee dominated that round.

McGee looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kint!

McGee lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

McGee moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Kint has worked his arm free - good work by Kint!
Kint is looking for a sweep.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Kint dodges the ground and pound from McGee.
Kint manages to work his way to half guard, despite McGee's best efforts.
Kint tries to kick McGee off but McGee keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Travis McGee has got the better of the ground game so far.
McGee not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
McGee wants to pass the guard but Kint is defending well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kint actively working from the bottom here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
McGee takes a head kick and keeps coming.

McGee shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Kint has his foot on McGee's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McGee works his way back into a safe position though.

Kint had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. McGee is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Kint Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take McGee's back instead.

McGee rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
McGee wants to improve his position but Kint is controlling well.

McGee throws a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Kint wants to control from the top but McGee keeps moving.

Kint thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
McGee is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kint trying to control but McGee is working from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kint tries to close the distance and clinch up but McGee swats him away and circles back towards the center.

McGee shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

McGee prevents Kint from getting the reversal.

McGee is going olschool here, as he tries to force Kint to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kint shrugs it off.
Kint is squirming around, avoiding McGee's attempts to control the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Travis McGee showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Kint is looking to clinch.

McGee closes the distance and clinches.
Kint fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Kint connects with a knee to the head.
Kint has had enough of the clinch but McGee keeps him there for the moment.

McGee gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Kint regains guard.
Kint wants to stand but McGee is controlling the position.
McGee seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

McGee forces his way into half guard.
Kint knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McGee on the ground.
McGee slips a nice elbow through Kint's hands, connecting with Kint's forehead.

McGee wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kint keeps working.
Kint is trying to stand.
McGee is controlling the pace.
McGee is trying to control the action in half guard but Kint is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kint regains full guard. Nicely done.
Kint striking off his back but it's not causing McGee any problems.
McGee working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kint's head.

McGee drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and McGee jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Kint manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. McGee manages to get himself to full guard.
Kint has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

McGee looking to break Kint's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Kint remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise McGee will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

McGee is pulling down on Kint's head to control his posture.
Travis McGee is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Kint gets to his feet. McGee looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Kint lands with a kick to the temple. McGee shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

McGee gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Roger Kint has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
McGee has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kint avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Kint lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Kint lands with a left to the head.
Kint is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.
Kint lands with a right to the head.

Kint pulls guard successfully.

McGee drops back looking for a leg! Kint is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kint manages to kick McGee off! McGee jumps back into Kint's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Travis McGee comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got McGee winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
