PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Black Coleman (ranked 2056 p4p, 256 weight class) and Alexander Potter (ranked 592 p4p, 82 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 26 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Black Coleman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alexander Potter!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Alyssa Summers and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Potter shoots in for a double leg but Coleman sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Alexander Potter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Coleman moves into range and clinches up with Potter.
Coleman throws a head punch that misses.
Potter's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Coleman tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Potter's elbow.

Potter gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Coleman is looking to improve his position.
My spies in Private Training Center inform me that Potter has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Potter lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Coleman down.
Potter remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

It looked like Coleman wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Coleman is working to avoid the ground and pound but Potter connects with a decent elbow.
Coleman tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Potter wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
