Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kelvin Blankenship (ranked 24858 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Jam (ranked 5948 p4p, 0 weight class). Jim Jam will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kelvin Blankenship! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Jam! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blankenship on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
It looks like Kelvin Blankenship has been cut. Jam swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Blankenship counters with a nice double leg into guard. Jam is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Jam is looking to sweep but instead, Blankenship has passed into half guard.
Blankenship thows a huge punch but Jam dodges it nicely.
Blankenship is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jam sees it coming and defends easily. Blankenship is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jam doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Blankenship. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Blankenship seems to be working for a kimura but Jam defends the submission attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blankenship decides to stand and escape the position. Jam tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Blankenship manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Blankenship looking to score a takedown here. Jam is defending well but Blankenship drives through and ends up in Jam's guard. Jam is looking to stand back up but Blankenship counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Jam.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Blankenship missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Jam avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Blankenship.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blankenship prevents Jam from standing back up.
Blankenship is working for a submission of some sort.
Blankenship missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Blankenship escapes and gets back to his feet. Jam is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. A left lands for Jam. Blankenship shoots in and drives through. Jam sprawls well. Blankenship goes for a double leg but Jam avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Jam continues to drive forward.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jam with a lazy takedown attempt and Blankenship counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Blankenship. Jam has had enough of the clinch but Blankenship keeps him there for the moment. Blankenship tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jam smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kelvin Blankenship. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jam shoots in but no luck this time. Blankenship feinted with a counter takedown. Jam looks to land a combination but Blankenship avoids it well. Jam throws a series of punches but Blankenship avoids them all with ease. Jam shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Blankenship counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Blankenship fails to pull guard.
Blankenship tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jam smiles and moves away.

and Blankenship moves into the clinch. Blankenship breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jam shoots in and drives through. Blankenship sprawls well. Jam fails in his attempt to clinch. Blankenship closes the distance and clinches up with Jam, looking for a takedown. Blankenship pushes Jam against the cage but Jam circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Jim Jam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jam fails in his attempt to clinch. Blankenship is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Jam. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Blankenship gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Blankenship tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Jam is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Blankenship buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Blankenship!! Blankenship is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Jam throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jim Jam!
