Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cam Newton (ranked 879 p4p, 132 weight class) and Seamus Farrelly (ranked 846 p4p, 128 weight class). Newton comes to the cage accompanied by Superman. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Farrelly throws a lazy right hand but Newton sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Newton throws a series of punches but Farrelly avoids them all with ease.
Farrelly let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Newton cracks Farrelly with a right hand to the side of the head.
Farrelly jabs at Newton's body.
Farrelly pushes Newton away with a front kick.
Newton misses with a right hand
and Farrelly counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

and Newton takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Farrelly takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

It looks like Cam Newton has been cut.
Newton moves out of range as Farrelly strikes.
Farrelly lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
A punch lands to the side of Farrelly 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Farrelly feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Newton's calf.

Newton throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Farrelly! But no joy.
Farrelly throws a head kick that misses.
Farrelly throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Newton throws a body shot but no joy.
Farrelly swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Farrelly works Newton's body with a nice hook.
Farrelly uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Newton.

and Farrelly counters with a left to the body.
Farrelly tries to clinch but Newton is having none of it.
Newton throws a lazy right hand but Farrelly sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Newton lands with a right hand.
Farrelly throws a body punch but Newton moves out of range.
Farrelly has taken the fight to the clinch.

Farrelly has a couple of punches blocked by Newton.
Farrelly pushes Newton back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Farrelly digs a right hand underneath Newton's ribcage. Newton let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Newton tries to break the clinch but Farrelly is controlling the position.
Newton wants to break free but Farrelly has control.
Newton has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Farrelly working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Farrelly struggles to land a body shot inside as Newton controls his hands.
Farrelly misses with a hook from the clinch.
Newton is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Newton is trying to push Farrelly away but Farrelly has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Farrelly lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Newton at a distance.

Farrelly uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Newton.
Farrelly is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Farrelly is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Newton rather than just go for the knockout.
Newton throws a series of punches but Farrelly avoids them all with ease.

Farrelly fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Newton looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

and Farrelly counters with a nice body shot.

Farrelly weaves into range and cracks Newton right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Newton goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Farrelly is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.

Seamus Farrelly was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
