Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tung Fo (ranked 2737 p4p, 346 weight class) and Connor MacLeod (ranked 1769 p4p, 236 weight class). Connor MacLeod has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Tung Fo's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tung Fo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Connor MacLeod!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fo fails with a takedown attempt.
We've been hearing reports that Fo has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Fo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that MacLeod has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
MacLeod will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
MacLeod stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and MacLeod wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tung Fo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
MacLeod misses with the combination.
Fo misses with a takedown attempt - MacLeod sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
MacLeod changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Fo tries to close the distance and clinch up but MacLeod swats him away and circles back towards the center.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fo darts in looking for a takedown but MacLeod gets double underhooks and turns Fo into the cage.

It looks like Tung Fo has been cut.

MacLeod changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Fo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

MacLeod tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no MacLeod has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

MacLeod wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Fo, who protects the arm well.

MacLeod is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Fo is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fo regains half guard.

MacLeod wants to work for an arm triangle but Fo is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Fo gets back to full guard.
Fo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
MacLeod trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

MacLeod sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Fo's guard.

MacLeod is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Fo defends it well.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Fo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. MacLeod gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

MacLeod drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and MacLeod jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
MacLeod stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

MacLeod drops back looking for a leg! Fo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fo manages to kick MacLeod off! MacLeod jumps back into Fo's guard.

Fo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. MacLeod gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Fo lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

MacLeod is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Fo got a little sloppy there for a moment and MacLeod has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Fo has managed to get both his arms back between MacLeod's legs - danger averted.
Fo postures up.
Fo slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
MacLeod is looking to reverse the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fo goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, MacLeod rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Fo's guard! Nice work there by MacLeod!
MacLeod tries to free his leg and advance position but Fo is retaining full guard.
MacLeod passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Connor MacLeod dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Tung Fo's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Fo tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Fo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from MacLeod.
Fo on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

MacLeod fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fo sprawls well initially but MacLeod persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
MacLeod has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Fo tries to get to full guard but MacLeod has control of the leg.

Fo drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but MacLeod manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Fo has MacLeod in his guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Fo is on top in guard.

MacLeod is trying to keep Fo in close.
MacLeod tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Fo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
MacLeod pulls Fo in to control the position.
MacLeod controls Fo momentarily but Fo frees himself.

Fo is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! MacLeod is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! MacLeod has escaped and now he's on top!

Fo wants to sweep here but MacLeod controlling him for the moment.

Fo pushes a forearm under MacLeod's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, MacLeod is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Tung Fo!
After winning the bout, Tung Fo thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
