Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Butler (ranked 1609 p4p, 32 weight class) and MIke Fernandes (ranked 24064 p4p, 235 weight class). MIke Fernandes will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jake Butler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, MIke Fernandes! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Matheus Silva and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fernandes decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Butler tries to get to full guard but Fernandes has control of the leg. Fernandes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Butler. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Butler is working hard here to advance position. Fernandes is thwarting Butler's attempts to control the position. Butler is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Jitz MMA, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Butler slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Butler tries to land a sweep but no joy. Butler bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Fernandes's guard. Butler lands a couple of elbows. Fernandes not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Butler postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Butler wants to pass the guard but Fernandes is keeping the position. Butler stands up over Fernandes, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Butler trying to control but Fernandes is working from the bottom. Butler with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Butler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fernandes swivels though and keeps the full guard. Butler lands a couple of elbows. Butler is pushing down on Fernandes's leg trying to pass to half guard. Fernandes is fighting to maintain full guard but Butler has managed to sneak the leg through. Butler looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Butler passes the guard and advances to mount! Fernandes is bucking up trying to escape but Butler cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Butler wants to control the pace but Fernandes is squirming around nicely. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Butler landing strikes from the mount and Fernandes is in trouble! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Butler controlling from mount. Fernandes taking shots to the head. Fernandes taking shots to the head. Butler dominating with strikes here.
Fernandes is rocked! A big strike lands for Butler! That's really hurt Fernandes and he's turned his back - Butler keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Butler jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
