Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shane Poe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alain Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clark has chosen Empire State as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clark shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Poe circles away from the clinch attempt.
Clark defending well as Poe loads up on a big left hand. Poe throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Clark sees it coming and avoids it easily. Clark takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Clark checks a leg kick. Clark looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Poe is fending him off so far but Clark persists. Nope, Poe circles away and we're back to standing. Clark fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Poe sprawls well initially but Clark persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Clark thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Poe's head. Poe striking from half guard on the bottom. Poe missing with punches from the bottom.
Poe won't allow Clark to pass to mount. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Clark is working for a submission of some sort.

Clark looks gassed! Clark is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Poe! Poe swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Poe is trying to get to the ropes to help him get back to his feet.

Clark wants to take Poe's back but he can't do it this time. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Poe gets back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Clark lands with a punch from half guard. Poe is looking to escape. Clark is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Poe pushes Clark off looking to stand but Clark dives back in and keeps control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Clark tries for a takedown but Poe sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Shane Poe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alain Clark.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Clark moves in looking to clinch but Poe pushes him off. Clark fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Clark uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Poe. Clark scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Poe is trying to get back to full guard. Clark prevents Poe from standing back up.
Clark landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Clark frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Poe is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Clark jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Poe is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Poe and Clark has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Clark looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Poe is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Clark thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Poe manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alain Clark dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Clark shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Poe as he jumps to the side. Clark fails with an attempt to clinch.
Alain Clark is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Clark ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Clark closes the distance and clinches up with Poe, looking for a takedown. Clark pushes Poe against the ropes but Poe circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. A swing and a miss from Poe. Clark shoots for a takedown but Poe saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Shane Poe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alain Clark. Clark looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Poe lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Poe catches Clark with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Clark drops his hands momentarily and Poe takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Poe misses with an uppercut. Clark is breathing heavily. Poe fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Poe scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. No luck for Clark with that takedown attempt. Poe throws a jab when Clark was well out of range. Poe throws a jab but it's blocked by Clark. Poe lands a really nice looking cross but Clark seems unphased.

Clark shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Poe but Poe pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Clark shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Poe pinned against the cage. Poe gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Clark takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Poe cracks a nice hook into Clark's ribs. Poe lands a head shot. Poe lands a nice hook to Clark's body. Clark takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Clark takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Clark uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Poe.
Poe dips to his left and cracks Clark with an uppercut! Clark tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Poe misses with a straight left. Nice cross by Poe. Poe throws a right and a left that both miss. Clark wants to clinch. Clark changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Poe tries to avoid it but Clark manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Poe to the ground. Poe escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Poe fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. A jab from Poe does it's job there. Shane Poe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Clark fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Poe lands a really nice looking cross but Clark seems unphased.
Poe throws a nice looking combination but Clark bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Clark shoots in for a takedown but Poe shows good takedown defense. Clark takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Poe throws a leg kick which misses Clark's front leg but catches the back leg as Clark tries to avoid it. Poe lands a right hook to the body.

Clark uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Poe. Clark shoots for a takedown but Poe saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Poe connects with a body shot. Poe lands a jab to the nose. Poe is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Poe lands with an overhand left. Clark misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Poe counters with a three punch combo that has Clark backing up. Clark nods at Poe to acknowledge the strikes. Poe moves into range and connects with a jab. Poe turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Poe throws a quick inside leg kick. Poe ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Poe jabbing away but nothing is landing. Poe connects with a body shot. Clark misses with a takedown attempt and Poe counters with a stiff right hand. Poe circles away from the clinch attempt and Clark takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Poe misses with the combination.
Poe throws a lazy right hand but Clark sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Alain Clark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Clark gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Poe connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Clark throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Poe counters with a two punch combo.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Poe misses with a few strikes there.
Clark misses with a takedown and Poe counters with a nice uppercut. Poe takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Poe keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Clark darts in and clinches Poe up against the ropes. Poe breaks the clinch.
Clark throws a combination that misses and Poe counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
And that's the end of the fight! Shane Poe showed his dominance in that final round. I think Poe has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
