The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lima moves out of range as Esposito throws a body kick.
Esposito misses with a hook. Lima circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lima slips a jab from Esposito. Esposito shoots in and bounces Lima off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard. Lima is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Esposito looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Esposito throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lima works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Esposito has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Lima escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Esposito gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Lima is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Lima isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Esposito stacks Lima on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Esposito! Lima looks gassed! Esposito scores with a couple of short elbows. Esposito closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lima to the mat! Lima manages to get full guard. Lima had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Esposito is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Lima Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Esposito's back instead. Esposito trying to get back to his feet but Lima is in full control for now. Lima not allowing Esposito to control his hands. Lima is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Esposito defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Esposito trying to control but not successfully. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Lima has got his arm under Esposito's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Esposito has spun round into Lima's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

Esposito scores with punches from side control. Lima parries the strikes from Esposito easily there. Esposito is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Lima to escape.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Esposito moves out of range of the leg kick from Lima. Lima circles away from the clinch attempt.

Esposito tries to clinch but Lima moves out of range. Esposito throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Esposito looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Lima!

Lima is trying desperately to improve position. Esposito is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Lima can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Esposito jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Lima manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Lima turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lima lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Lima slips under a jab. Good leg kick by Lima there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Esposito misses with a body shot

and Lima counters with a nice low kick that buckles Esposito's knee momentarily. A good leg kick by Lima. Esposito tries to close the distance and clinch but Lima swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Frank Esposito seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Esposito misses with a kick to the body and Lima connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Esposito looks to land a right hand but Lima moved out of range. Lima moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Esposito takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Esposito is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Esposito scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Lima gets back to half guard. Esposito is trying to control. Lima wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Lima is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Esposito pulls his head out easily. Esposito working the head and body with strikes. Vagner Boeira de Lima has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Frank Esposito is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Esposito trying to control the action but Lima is working from the bottom. Esposito blocks the strikes from Lima.
And that's the end of the fight! Frank Esposito showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Esposito, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
