Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
15 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Savage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
18 - 20 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leandro Jones!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A punch combination from Jones misses.
Jones just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromSavage.
Leandro Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A head kick misses from Savage.
Jones tries a quick counter leg kick but Savage is wise to it.

Jones lands a nice shot to the body.
Savage tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jones swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Savage lands a body shot.
Savage fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jones manages to avoid it.
Jones on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Savage bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Jones fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Savage has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Martial Arts Dojo in the buildup to the fight.
Jones fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Jones pushes Savage up against the cage in a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jones on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Savage keeps control of Jones as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Savage walks into a stiff left hand from Jones.
Jones tries a head kick but it misses.
Jones bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Savage's head.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Savage tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jones was well out of range. Poor timing from Savage.
Jones bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Savage.
Jones connects with a single shot there.
Jones paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Savage is rocked!
Jones dives in and gets a big takedown. He lands in full mount and immediately unloads a series of heavy strikes! Savage has had enough and taps out.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Leandro Jones!
After the fight, Leandro Jones was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
