Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Teddy Sayre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Harden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sayre's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, A Country Boy Can Survive. Teddy Sayre has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Teddy Sayre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sayre slips under a jab from Harden.
Sayre blocks a jab.
Harden throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Harden throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sayre.
Sayre tries to close the distance and clinch but Harden swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Harden lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Sayre backs up against the cage.


It looks like Teddy Sayre has been cut.
Harden looks to throw the jab but Sayre is out of range.
Harden throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sayre sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Harden sizes up Sayre with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Harden misses with a few strikes there.

Harden circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sayre steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Harden.
The fighters circling - Harden throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Sayre tries to clinch up.
Harden throws a hook to the side of Sayre's head but Sayre sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Sayre tries to clinch there but Harden circles away.
Sayre throws a right and a left that both miss.
Sayre lands with a thumping leg kick.
Nice shot lands for Harden.
Harden looks to throw the jab but Sayre is out of range.
Harden keeps the fight on the outside.

Harden misses with a wild body shot.
Harden moves away from the strike by Sayre.
Sayre moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Harden might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Sayre drives through and clinches with Harden against the cage.
Sayre looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Harden takes a knee right on the jaw!

Sayre gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Harden escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sayre gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Harden looks gassed!

Harden is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Harden had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Sayre is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Harden Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Sayre's back instead.

Harden is not going to allow Sayre to sit and survive in this position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Harden throws a wild body kick that Sayre sees coming a mile off.
Sayre throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Harden fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sayre will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Sayre throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Harden circles away from the clinch attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but James Harden will probably get the nod.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Sayre instigates a clinch.
Sayre is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Sayre pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Harden throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Sayre moves into the clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Sayre successfully pulls guard.
Sayre keeping moving, preventing Harden from controlling successfully.
Harden is pushing down on Sayre's leg trying to pass to half guard. Sayre is fighting to maintain full guard but Harden has managed to sneak the leg through.

Harden is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Harden is keen to just control but Sayre is a slippery customer.
Harden is breathing heavily.

Sayre is looking for a sweep. Harden is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Sayre knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Harden on the ground.

Harden is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Sayre to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Sayre shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sayre showed some decent athleticism there.

Harden isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Sayre stacks Harden on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Sayre!

Sayre tries to land knees in the clinch but Harden avoids the damage to the body.

Harden swings wildly with an uppercut but Sayre uses good head movement to avoid it.

Sayre closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Harden drops back looking for a leg! Sayre is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sayre manages to kick Harden off! Harden jumps back into Sayre's guard.
Harden wants to control from the top but Sayre keeps moving.

Sayre bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Harden's guard.
