Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Guy Zeko (ranked 5889 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grant McCombie (ranked 23990 p4p, 0 weight class). McCombie has chosen the twist as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Guy Zeko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Grant McCombie!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Paul Tew and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Zeko enables McCombie to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Zeko manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Zeko looking for a guillotine here but McCombie defends easily.
McCombie engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
McCombie won't allow Zeko to sweep him here.

Zeko looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McCombie trying to control the position from guard on top but Zeko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
McCombie must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

McCombie connects with a couple of short punches.

Zeko had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. McCombie defends it easily.
McCombie not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Let's hope that McCombie has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
McCombie's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Zeko looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
McCombie wants to stand and escape but instead Zeko has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.


Zeko drops back, looking for a kneebar! McCombie looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. McCombie looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from McCombie!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McCombie tries for a kimura but Zeko is defending well.

McCombie controlling the position.

McCombie has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
A head kick from McCombie lands but Zeko takes it in his stride.
McCombie closes the distance looking to clinch
and Zeko counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McCombie takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

McCombie drives through and clinches with Zeko against the cage.

McCombie breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A head kick by McCombie misses
and Zeko counters with a stiff right hand.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from McCombie - that will leave a mark!
McCombie pulls out of a head kick attempt.
McCombie keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
McCombie tries to clinch up but Zeko circles away and keeps his distance.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McCombie connects with a high kick.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Zeko avoids the head kick by McCombie.
It looked like Zeko was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
McCombie misses with a low kick.
Zeko closes the distance and lands a one-two.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Grant McCombie will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


McCombie tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Zeko paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Guy Zeko is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
McCombie misses with a takedown

and Zeko counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Zeko.
Zeko prevents the takedown attempt.
McCombie is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Zeko connects with a knee to the head.
McCombie changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Zeko fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Guy Zeko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Grant McCombie.

McCombie shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than McCombie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Zeko throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
McCombie shoots in but Zeko avoids the takedown attempt easily.

McCombie closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Zeko breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
McCombie scores with a head kick. Zeko tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Zeko shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Zeko showed some decent athleticism there.
McCombie wants to stand back up but Zeko manages to pass into side control.
McCombie is letting Zeko control him for a moment.

Zeko decides to stand up, so the ref orders McCombie to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Zeko throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck McCombie on the side of the head.
Zeko swats away the attempt to clinch by McCombie.
McCombie throws a low kick but Zeko avoids it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McCombie thows a leg kick but Zeko checks it

and Zeko counters by moving into the clinch.

Zeko breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McCombie throws a head kick that misses.
McCombie fails with a takedown attempt.

Zeko throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. McCombie tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Zeko is in McCombie's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McCombie is pulling down on Zeko's head to control his posture.
McCombie looking to hit a scissor sweep but Zeko is one step ahead there.
McCombie keeping moving, preventing Zeko from controlling successfully.
McCombie not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Zeko drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but McCombie manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Zeko has McCombie in his guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

McCombie stands and steps away. Zeko gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
McCombie shoots and misses
enabling Zeko to counter with a crisp jab.
A head kick misses from McCombie.
Zeko steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from McCombie. That one must have hurt.
McCombie throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Zeko gets the takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McCombie is breathing heavily.

Zeko thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
McCombie is trying to buck Zeko off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Guy Zeko dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Zeko slips a jab and a cross from McCombie.
Zeko looks to land a combination but McCombie avoids it well.
As Zeko backs off McCombie throws a huge counter combo but Zeko manages to avoid it all.
McCombie misses with a takedown attempt - Zeko sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
As McCombie tries to get set, Zeko tries to push him back and clinch up but McCombie manages to avoid the attempt.
Zeko avoids the head kick by McCombie.
Zeko is looking to counter punch.
McCombie misses with a head kick.
McCombie throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Zeko seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
McCombie goes for a double leg but Zeko avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Zeko continues to drive forward.
Zeko misses with a double jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zeko throws a right and a left that McCombie avoids nicely.
McCombie lands a head kick!

Zeko appears to be looking for a big counter.
McCombie takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
McCombie throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

McCombie gets caught napping as Zeko dives in and scores a takedown. McCombie manages to retain guard.

Zeko gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
McCombie shoots in looking for a takedown but Zeko manages to keep the fight standing, pushing McCombie's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Zeko tries to counter with a takedown but McCombie is quick to defend against it.
Guy Zeko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Grant McCombie.

Zeko rushes McCombie and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
McCombie wants to get back to striking at distance but Zeko won't allow it.

Zeko turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Zeko manages to end up in side control.

McCombie throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Zeko moves into range and connects with a jab.
A head kick misses from McCombie.
McCombie is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McCombie goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Zeko half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
McCombie tries for a takedown but Zeko sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
A lazy body kick from McCombie
and Zeko counters with a nice body kick.
Zeko with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
McCombie is trying hard to land a takedown here. Zeko sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
McCombie takes a body punch but keeps moving.
McCombie takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Nice body punch from Zeko - that landed with a thud.
Zeko has McCombie pressed against the cage.

Zeko has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics McCombie uses from the top position.

Zeko looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Zeko is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

McCombie is trying to get back to full guard.

Zeko is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Zeko is looking to advance position but McCombie won't allow it.
McCombie wants to get back to his feet.

McCombie actively working from the bottom here.
Zeko wants to take a breather but McCombie is having none of it.
Zeko is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because McCombie is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
McCombie wants to get back to his feet.
Zeko seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McCombie does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
McCombie is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
McCombie is refusing to be controlled, as Zeko sits in half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Guy Zeko showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Zeko has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
