Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sebastian Reid (ranked 8894 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saitama Ryuuji (ranked 7821 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sebastian Reid! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Saitama Ryuuji! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ryuuji looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. It looked like Reid was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Ryuuji fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Reid, pushing him back against the cage. Reid pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Reid has managed to clinch.
Reid manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Reid. Ryuuji has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Reid regains guard immediately. Ryuuji is looking to pass into half guard but Reid pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Reid is in guard.

Reid missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Ryuuji should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ryuuji throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Reid postures up.
Ryuuji pulls Reid in close to prevent any damage. Ryuuji throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Ryuuji is looking to stand up but Reid isn't so interested in that idea. Ryuuji tries to land a sweep but no joy. Reid postures up.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Ryuuji throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Reid tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ryuuji is in Reid's guard. Ryuuji trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Ryuuji looking to sit in guard and control but Reid gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Ryuuji is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Ryuuji can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Reid controls the pace.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reid drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Reid jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Ryuuji looking to hit a scissor sweep but Reid is one step ahead there. Ryuuji is looking to stand up but Reid isn't so interested in that idea. Reid's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Reid lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Ryuuji wants to stand and escape but Reid is having none of it.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Reid pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Reid seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Saitama Ryuuji seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ryuuji gets caught flat footed, as Reid shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Reid throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ryuuji works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Ryuuji trying to control the position here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sebastian Reid dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
No joy there for Reid, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Ryuuji closes the distance and clinches. Reid tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Reid just leaning against Ryuuji, taking a breather. Ryuuji misses with a knee to the head. Reid breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Reid lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Reid misses with a hook. Sebastian Reid is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ryuuji fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Reid sprawls well initially but Ryuuji persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Ryuuji trying to control from Reid's half guard. Reid has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Sebastian Reid overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ryuuji is looking to pass into half guard but Reid pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Reid is in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reid postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Reid is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Reid is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Ryuuji is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Ryuuji looking to control.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Reid's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Reid lands a couple of decent looking shots. Ryuuji escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Reid gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Reid not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Ryuuji fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Reid sprawls well initially but Ryuuji persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ryuuji not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Ryuuji is just content to waste time from the top position. Reid takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Reid is trying to keep Ryuuji in close.
Ryuuji wants to control from the top but Reid keeps moving. Ryuuji must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Reid is on top in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Reid content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Ryuuji looking for a sweep. Not yet Ryuuji, not yet. Reid prevents Ryuuji from getting back to his feet. Reid works over Ryuuji with some ground and pound from guard. Reid content to stall in guard here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sebastian Reid dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Reid instigates a clinch. Reid leaning his opponent against the cage. Ryuuji pulls guard. Reid postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ryuuji is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Reid, into his guard. Reid keeping moving, preventing Ryuuji from controlling successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ryuuji looking to sit in guard and control but Reid gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reid working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Reid throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Ryuuji escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Reid gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Reid makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Reid is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ryuuji can do to turn this around? Ryuuji is trying to control the position but Reid postures up. Ryuuji wants to sweep here but Reid controlling him for the moment. Ryuuji has his foot on Reid's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Reid works his way back into a safe position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Ryuuji avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Reid throws a big elbow that misses. Ryuuji looking for a sweep. Not yet Ryuuji, not yet. Reid is stalling in the full guard.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Reid scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reid content to control rather than advance. Ryuuji is looking for a sweep. Reid is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Reid landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Reid keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Ryuuji tries to roll over but Reid keeps him under control. Reid is trying to work for a kimura but Ryuuji is defending well.
Reid slows the pace down in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Ryuuji is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Reid is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Reid's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
