Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Slevin (ranked 4879 p4p, 492 weight class) and Mario Huber (ranked 8431 p4p, 653 weight class). Slevin comes to the cage accompanied by Metallica - Enter Sandman. Huber is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Enter Sandman. Tony Slevin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tony Slevin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 40 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mario Huber!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Huber shoots and misses

and Slevin holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Slevin lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Huber throws a big elbow that misses.
Slevin managing to control the position.
Slevin controls Huber momentarily but Huber frees himself.
Slevin wants to sweep here but Huber controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Huber accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Slevin slaps away a takedown attempt from Huber, before circling back to the center of the mat.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Huber fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Slevin tries to score with a low kick but Huber moves his leg out of the way.

Huber feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Huber drops back looking for a leg! Slevin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Slevin manages to kick Huber off! Huber jumps back into Slevin's guard.

Huber stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Slevin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Huber makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Huber drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Huber jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Huber thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Huber drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Slevin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Huber has Slevin in his guard.

Huber has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Slevin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Huber is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Slevin defends well.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


A thudding body kick lands there by Slevin!

Slevin lands a right hook to the body.
Slevin stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Huber moves out of range of the leg kick from Slevin.
Slevin lands with an overhand left.

Huber shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Slevin napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The ground and pound from Huber seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Slevin is looking to reverse the position.
You can see the frustration on Slevin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tony Slevin.
