Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Staph Aureus (ranked 3673 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Cox (ranked 21857 p4p, 0 weight class). Cox has chosen Diving Faces as his entrance music. Aureus has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
40 - 41 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Staph Aureus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carl Cox! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Dean Styles and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aureus tries to clinch but Cox is having none of it. Cox tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Cox gets in close and instigates a clinch. Cox has had enough of the clinch but Aureus keeps him there for the moment. Cox is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Aureus is defending well. Cox tries to pull guard but Aureus won't allow it.
Cox is looking for a takedown. Staph Aureus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carl Cox. Cox wants to take the fight to the mat but Aureus manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Stalling in the clinch from Cox.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Aureus. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cox is trying to force a seperation but Aureus has the dominant position. Cox drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Aureus gets the underhooks and prevents it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Aureus tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Cox avoids it. Cox pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Cox shoots in for a takedown but Aureus shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Aureus wants to clinch up but Cox keeps it at a distance. Cox lands with a thumping leg kick.
Cox closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Cox is looking for a takedown. Cox will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Aureus up against the cage. Cox breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cox shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Aureus pinned against the cage. Aureus gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Cox shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Aureus defends it nicely. Cox will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Aureus throws a counter high kick but Cox was just alert enough to avoid it. Cox looks for a takedown but Aureus sprawls well. Cox closes the distance and clinches up with Aureus, looking for a takedown. Cox pushes Aureus against the cage but Aureus circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Aureus quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect. Cox looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cox shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Aureus defends it nicely. Aureus is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Cox. Aureus closes the distance but Cox moves to the side and Cox counters with a two punch combo. Some wild striking there from Cox.

Staph Aureus's cut is getting worse. Cox looking to score a takedown here. Aureus is defending well but Cox drives through and ends up in Aureus's guard. Aureus is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cox defends well. Aureus is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Aureus keeping moving, preventing Cox from controlling successfully. Aureus is working an open guard so Cox takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Cox fails to land the takedown. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cox shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Aureus but Aureus pushes him off and we're back to square one. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cox looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Aureus is fending him off so far but Cox persists. Nope, Aureus circles away and we're back to standing. As Cox tries to get set, Aureus tries to push him back and clinch up but Cox manages to avoid the attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carl Cox dominated that round. The cut man is working on Staph Aureus's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Cox tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Aureus defends well and Cox ends up having to push Aureus into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Cox tries to score a power double leg takedown but Aureus sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cox somewhat. Cox shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Staph Aureus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carl Cox. Cox darts in and clinches Aureus up against the cage. Cox jumps guard and drags Aureus to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Cox is wriggling around but Aureus manages to pass to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cox tries to roll over but Aureus keeps him under control. Cox is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Aureus's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Aureus's back!

Cox misses with an elbow to the head. Cox looking to break Aureus's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Aureus remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Cox will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Cox tries to get the hooks in deep but Aureus pushed the leg off. Cox throwing wild punches that miss their target. Aureus preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Cox. Carl Cox has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cox is looking for the choke from the back position but Aureus is controlling his hands well. Aureus staying busy and making it hard for Cox to control. Cox is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Aureus knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Aureus for a finish. Aureus tries to break free.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Cox misses with a punch to the head. A lull in the action here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aureus wants to get back to his feet. Cox looking for the choke but no joy. Cox looking to hold on to the position here but Aureus rolls and ends up regaining guard.
Cox wants to pass the guard but Aureus is keeping the position. Cox trying to control but Aureus is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Cox looking to sit in guard and control but Aureus gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Cox is trying to control the position but Aureus postures up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Cox wants to improve his position but instead Aureus has moved into half guard.

Carl Cox showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Staph Aureus's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Cox tests Aureus's chin there with a solid looking shot. Cox circles away from the clinch attempt and Cox counters with a one-two to the body. Cox shoots in looking for a takedown but Aureus manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cox's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Cox shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Aureus but Aureus pushes him off and we're back to square one. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cox connects with a right hand. Aureus shakes it off. Cox scores with a decent looking hook.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cox shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Aureus as he avoids it easily. Staph Aureus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carl Cox. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Aureus tries to clinch up. Staph Aureus is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Cox tries for a takedown but Aureus sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Aureus throws a quick counter kick to the body but Cox avoids it. Aureus darts in and clinches Cox up against the cage. Cox tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Aureus just stands there and leans against the cage. Both guys are working to get underhooks. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Cox. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Cox jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Aureus walks away with a smile on his face. Cox gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Cox scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Aureus doesn't seem bothered though. Cox lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Aureus gets tackled into the cage by Cox. Cox maintains the clinch. A head punch blocked on the inside by Cox. Staph Aureus has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aureus struggles to land a body shot inside as Cox controls his hands.
Aureus swings wildly with an uppercut but Cox uses good head movement to avoid it. Cox breaks the clinch.
Cox has managed to clinch.
Aureus lands a good knee to the midsection. Cox won't want to take too many of those. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cox breaks from the clinch.
Cox throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Aureus.
Staph Aureus's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Aureus stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Aureus wants it to stay on the feet. Aureus drops his hands momentarily and Cox takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cox fails with a takedown attempt from distance. It looked like Aureus was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Cox tries to score a power double leg takedown but Aureus sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cox somewhat. Cox circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cox's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Cox duly obliges.
Jeez, Staph Aureus's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. Cox looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Aureus throws a big counter combination but Cox scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Cox will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Aureus with a lazy takedown attempt and Cox counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Cox managing to block the knees to the body from Aureus.
Cox cracks Aureus with a nice body shot. Cox escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cox throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Staph Aureus's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Carl Cox! Staph Aureus spoke after the fight, saying 'You win some you lose some . I'll be back, dont worry about it !'.
