Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Burnie Buddz (ranked 6128 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Paxman (ranked 6135 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paxman throws a hook to the side of Buddz's head but Buddz sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Buddz avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Paxman throws a right hand that misses
and Buddz counters with a nice body shot.
Buddz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Paxman sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Buddz somewhat.
Buddz misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Paxman closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Paxman wants to sweep here but Buddz controlling him for the moment.

Paxman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Buddz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Buddz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Buddz accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Buddz wanted to stand there but Paxman had control of the position.
Paxman manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Buddz manages to get himself to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Paxman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Buddz swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Buddz is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Paxman wants to control from the top but Buddz keeps moving.
Paxman works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Paxman is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Paxman controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Paxman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Buddz swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Buddz pulls Paxman in close to prevent any damage.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Buddz tries to break the clinch but Paxman is controlling the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Paxman breaks from the clinch.
Buddz shoots in for a takedown but Paxman shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Paxman tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Buddz was well out of range. Poor timing from Paxman.

Paxman moves into the clinch.
Paxman is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Buddz to keep the fight standing.
Paxman lands a shot to the body.
Paxman is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Buddz is defending well.

Paxman throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Paxman enables Buddz to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Paxman manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Buddz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Paxman tries to avoid it but Buddz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Paxman to the ground. Paxman escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Buddz wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Paxman has him pressed against the cage.
Paxman struggles to land a body shot inside as Buddz controls his hands.

Jeremy Paxman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Paxman has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
