Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Bass (ranked 9135 p4p, 0 weight class) and Loopey LaJoneses (ranked 5303 p4p, 0 weight class). Loopey LaJoneses will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nathan Bass!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Loopey LaJoneses!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Igor Prikhodko and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
LaJoneses throws a right hand that Bass ducks under and follows up with a left that Bass also avoids with ease.
LaJoneses shoots in but no luck this time.

LaJoneses drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
LaJoneses trying to control the position from guard on top but Bass is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bass looking to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
LaJoneses is fighting to break Bass's control of his arms but Bass is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

LaJoneses drops back, looking for a kneebar! Bass looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Bass looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Bass!

Bass wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by LaJoneses, who protects the arm well.
LaJoneses struggling a bit here.
LaJoneses is looking to regain half guard here but Bass keeps moving and retains side control.
Bass really is a fat lump.
LaJoneses is still trying to improve position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Bass decides to take the fight back to the feet.

LaJoneses fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bass, pushing him back against the cage.

LaJoneses manages to break the clinch.
LaJoneses throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bass's waist but Bass gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing LaJoneses off to one side.
LaJoneses just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromBass.
LaJoneses tries to land a front kick but Bass steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Bass half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
LaJoneses shoots for a takedown but Bass saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Nathan Bass has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Loopey LaJoneses.

LaJoneses looking to score a takedown here. Bass is defending well but LaJoneses drives through and ends up in Bass's guard.

LaJoneses postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bass is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of LaJoneses, into his guard.

LaJoneses is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Bass loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
LaJoneses looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bass is one step ahead there.
LaJoneses has momentary wrist control but Bass slips an elbow through the middle.


It looks like Loopey LaJoneses has been cut.
LaJoneses trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bass is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

LaJoneses has his foot on Bass's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bass works his way back into a safe position though.
LaJoneses tries to strike from the bottom.
Bass wanted to stand there but LaJoneses had control of the position.
LaJoneses looking to control.
LaJoneses with a couple of shots from the bottom there - nothing Bass can't handle though.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
LaJoneses bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bass's guard.

LaJoneses trying to control the position from guard on top but Bass is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Loopey LaJoneses will probably get the nod.

That's time! Bass's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


LaJoneses closes the distance and lands a one-two.


It looks like Nathan Bass has been cut.

LaJoneses closes the distance and clinches.
Bass doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

LaJoneses lands a takedown into guard.
LaJoneses slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Bass preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
LaJoneses stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bass swivels though and keeps the full guard.

LaJoneses sitting in guard here, content to control.

LaJoneses stands up from guard. Let's bang!
LaJoneses pulls out of a head kick attempt.
LaJoneses has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

LaJoneses closes the distance and clinches.

LaJoneses manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
LaJoneses looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
LaJoneses working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Bass.
Bass throwing strikes but missing.

LaJoneses controlling the position.

LaJoneses working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Bass has passed into half guard!

LaJoneses looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
LaJoneses is breathing heavily.
LaJoneses is holding on to half guard well.

Bass is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Bass is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and LaJoneses defends it well.
Bass with the ground and pound but LaJoneses uses the opportunity to regain guard.
LaJoneses trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

LaJoneses scrambles and gets back to his feet.

LaJoneses moves into the clinch.

LaJoneses breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

LaJoneses dives in and scores a takedown into Bass's guard.
LaJoneses cracks Bass with a solid left hand.

LaJoneses stands up and waves to Bass to follow him.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
LaJoneses shoots in looking for a takedown. Bass tries to sprawl out of it but LaJoneses keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bass manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Bass seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Loopey LaJoneses showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



LaJoneses darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

LaJoneses is looking for a kimura here.
Loopey LaJoneses has got the better of the ground game so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
LaJoneses looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bass with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
LaJoneses is looking to advance position but Bass won't allow it.
Still in half guard, LaJoneses seems content to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Let's hope that LaJoneses has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
LaJoneses drops an elbow to the side of Bass's head.
Bass trying to control here.
LaJoneses scoring with strikes to the body and head.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bass is looking to control LaJoneses's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bass avoid being mounted?
LaJoneses works his way into full mount!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
LaJoneses controlling the pace for now.
Bass might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

LaJoneses is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Bass is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Bass flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. LaJoneses anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Bass and secures both hooks! This could be bad! LaJoneses slips an arm under Bass chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. LaJoneses has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. LaJoneses is squeezing on Bass like an anaconda would it's prey. Bass fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Loopey LaJoneses!
