Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Fike (ranked 24409 p4p, 0 weight class) and Szczepan Franek (ranked 24404 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Ivan Kurochkin and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fike dips to his left and cracks Franek with an uppercut!
Fike tries to close the distance and clinch but Franek swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Franek drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Fike is trying to keep Franek in close.
Fike manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Franek manages to get himself to full guard.
Franek bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Fike's guard.

It looks like Franek might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Franek remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Szczepan Franek has got the better of the ground game so far.
Fike manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Franek in particular looking to stall.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mike Fike.
I think Franek has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
