Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Robert Stone (ranked 1671 p4p, 174 weight class) and Scuba Chris (ranked 3095 p4p, 277 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Stone might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Chill Bill. Robert Stone could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Scuba Chris's chin.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Scuba Chris!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chris decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Chris keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Stone wants to improve his position but Chris is controlling well.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Chris in particular looking to stall.
Chris's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Chris is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Stone is just riding it out for now. Chris eventually gives up the hold.

Chris goes for an armbar but Stone turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Stone.
Chris is pulling down on Stone's head. It's preventing any offense from Stone, at least for the moment.

A nice side step and Chris releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Chris digs a good body shot into Stone's ribs.
Chris throws a solid leg kick but Stone takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Chris.
Stone lunges at Chris with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Chris's hand.
Chris checks the leg kick nicely there.
Chris has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Chris tries to work over Stone's front leg with a kick but Stone checks it.
Stone throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Stone cracks Chris with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Stone attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Chris throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Stone sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Stone looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

A cross from Stone lands.
Chris looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Scuba Chris is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Stone lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Stone defending well as Chris loads up on a big left hand.
Stone throws a sloppy head kick
and Chris counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Chris counters with a nice uppercut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Chris throws a lazy right hand but Stone sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Chris connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Stone ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Chris moves away.
As Stone backs off Chris throws a huge counter combo but Stone manages to avoid it all.

A slow jab from Stone misses its intended target.
Stone avoids a punch combination nicely.
Chris blocks a leg kick.
Chris throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Stone slips under a jab from Chris.
As Chris looks to move away, Stone throws a big counter combo but Chris just gets out of the way.
Stone lands with a kick to the ribs.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Chris throws a series of punches but Stone avoids them all with ease.
