Hakkenslash comes to the cage accompanied by Black Label Society - Life, Birth, Blood, Doom. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hakkenslash gets the takedown into side control.
LeBalls sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
LeBalls blocking the ground and pound attempt from Hakkenslash.
LeBalls is trying to control but can't.
Hakkenslash not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Hakkenslash thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Hakkenslash lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
LeBalls is controlling Hakkenslash's position as best he can from this difficult position.

LeBalls has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hakkenslash is working away from the top position though.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if LeBalls can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hakkenslash throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Hakkenslash drops an elbow to the side of LeBalls's head.
LeBalls is trying to maintain the position but Hakkenslash is very close to passing his half guard.
LeBalls tries to get to full guard but Hakkenslash has control of the leg.
Hakkenslash working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
LeBalls is trying to get back to full guard.
Hakkenslash not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Hakkenslash seems to be looking for submissions.
LeBalls controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Hakkenslash missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

LeBalls is trying to control but can't.
LeBalls tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Hakkenslash throws a hook but LeBalls blocks it.
LeBalls thuds a left hand into Hakkenslash's body.

and LeBalls counters with a series of strikes. Hakkenslash will be more careful next time no doubt.
LeBalls shoots in for a double leg but Hakkenslash sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hakkenslash tries for a takedown but LeBalls sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
LeBalls misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

LeBalls scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hakkenslash taking some punishment here, with LeBalls in his half guard.

Hakkenslash looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Hakkenslash is breathing heavily.
LeBalls slips a nice elbow through Hakkenslash's hands, connecting with Hakkenslash's forehead.

LeBalls is taking a breather. Hakkenslash says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
LeBalls is looking to take a break and control but Hakkenslash is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
LeBalls has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Hakkenslash tries to reverse the position but LeBalls maintains control.

LeBalls jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Hakkenslash manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Hakkenslash is trying to improve his position.
Hakkenslash is working hard here to advance position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
LeBalls moves into full mount!
Hakkenslash is trying to escape the mount.
LeBalls with the ground and pound from mount.
Hakkenslash swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Hakkenslash is looking to get to half guard.

LeBalls is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Hakkenslash is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Hakkenslash flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. LeBalls anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Hakkenslash and secures both hooks! This could be bad! LeBalls slips an arm under Hakkenslash chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. LeBalls has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. LeBalls is squeezing on Hakkenslash like an anaconda would it's prey. Hakkenslash fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jack LeBalls!
