Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tamara Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sammy Samson! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Samson lands a nice looking kick to the body. Silva takes a step back to recover. Samson thows a body kick. Silva tries to catch it but that hurt him. Silva is breathing heavily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Samson throws a right and a left that Silva avoids nicely. Silva tries to keep at a distance but Samson has taken the fight into the clinch. Samson throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Silva blocks it with crossed arms. Samson lands an elbow just above Silva 's eye.
It looks like Tamara Silva has been cut. Samson lands a hook that snaps the head of Silva backwards. Samson gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Silva regains guard.
Samson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Silva is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Samson is stalling in the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Despite being in the dominant position, Sammy Samson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Samson has closed the distance and engaged Silva in a clinch.
Still in the clinch, Samson scores with a nice short uppercut. Samson has Silva pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Samson pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Silva tumbling to the mat - Samson dives into Silva's guard. Silva can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Samson controls the pace. Samson advances position into side control! Samson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Samson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Silva is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Samson has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Silva! Samson controlling the position easily from mount. Samson lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Silva hang on? Samson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Silva's face.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Samson content just to control the position here. Silva is trying to reverse the position but instead Samson has taken his back - oops! Samson working for a choke but Silva is defending well. Samson softening up his opponent with strikes here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. What can Silva do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Samson holds on and takes a little breather. Samson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Silva drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Samson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Silva has Samson in his guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Samson is stalling in the full guard. Samson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Samson controls from within his opponent's guard. Samson is pushing down on Silva's leg trying to pass to half guard. Silva is fighting to maintain full guard but Samson has managed to sneak the leg through. Samson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Silva has hold of Samson's hands but Samson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Silva is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Samson scores with a couple of nice shots. Samson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Samson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Samson is controlling the pace.
Samson is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Samson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Samson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Samson closes the distance and clinches. Samson lands a knee to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Samson lands an elbow inside that Silva shrugs off. Samson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Samson manages to end up in side control. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Samson lands some shots froms side control. Sammy Samson has got the better of the ground game so far. Samson gets to mount! Silva was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Samson dominating with strikes here. The referee warns Silva that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Samson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Silva can't escape the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Samson working the ground and pound effectively.

Sammy Samson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Tamara Silva's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
A left and a right from Samson both land. Nice combination. Samson's corner calls for a 1-2. Samson obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Tamara Silva is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Silva tries to keep at a distance but Samson has taken the fight into the clinch. Samson tries to land knees in the clinch but Silva avoids the damage to the body. Samson throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Silvas head. Silva tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Samson smiles and moves away.

Tamara Silva's cut is getting worse. Samson keeps control of Silva as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Samson has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Silva regains guard immediately. Samson content to stall in guard here. Silva looking for subs off his back but Samson has passed one foot through into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Samson lands a nice short elbow. Ground and pound from Samson.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Samson controlling the action here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Samson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Samson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Samson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Silva looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Samson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Samson passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Silva! Samson landing punches. Samson lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! The referee is taking a good look at Silva as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Samson!
Samson working for a choke but Silva is defending well. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
