Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vincento Vega (ranked 22291 p4p, 721 weight class) and Danny Meechum (ranked 22625 p4p, 778 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vincento Vega! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Danny Meechum! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vega takes the fight into the clinch. Vega lands a body punch in the clinch. Vega goes for a takedown in the clinch but Meechum prevents it.
Meechum is trying to break free. Vega has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Meechum is trying to keep an underhook but Vega manages to get the takedown into half guard. Vega content to control rather than advance. Vega wants to stand up but Meechum has a hold of him and won't allow it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Meechum is trying to maintain the position but Vega is very close to passing his half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vega tries to stand but can't do so whilst Meechum controls his leg. Meechum wants to control but Vega is keeping busy and won't allow it. Vega seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Vega gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Meechum crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Vega - the referee stops the clock and Meechum gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Vega. Meechum manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Meechum moves in looking to clinch but Vega pushes him off. Vega forces Meechum back against the cage and clinches. Vega gets control of Meechum's arms and successfully pulls guard. Vega will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Vega on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Vega tries to get out of the position. Vega has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Meechum has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Vega jumps guard and drags Meechum to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Vega manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Meechum manages to get himself to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Meechum looking to control.
Vega stands up from guard. Let's bang! Vincento Vega is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Vega swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Meechum.
It looks like Danny Meechum has been cut. Vega clinches up against the cage. Vega manages to break the clinch.
Vega shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Meechum eats them both and turns towards Vega to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Vega rushes Meechum and presses him up against the cage. Meechum trying to control the position but instead, Vega has worked for underhooks and has pushed Meechum into the cage. Vega tightens his grip and picks Meechum up, before dumping him to the ground. Meechum manages to land in guard. Vega is standing up over Meechum. Meechum looks to escape but Vega dives into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Meechum trying to control but Vega flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back! Vega controlling well, preventing Meechum from escaping the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vega really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Meechum. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vincento Vega dominated that round. The cut man is working on Danny Meechum's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Vega gets a clinch. Vega tightens his grip and picks Meechum up, before dumping him to the ground. Meechum manages to land in guard. Vega trying to stand up but can't free himself from Meechum's guard. Vega controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Meechum had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Vega defends it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vega stands up and waves to Meechum to follow him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vega displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Meechum. Meechum tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Meechum tries to clinch up but Vega circles away and keeps his distance. Vega is looking to counter the offense by Meechum and move into the clinch. Vincento Vega is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Vega closes the distance and clinches. Vega is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Meechum can do to turn this around? Meechum has Vega pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Vega manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Vega pushes Meechum back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Meechum is trying to maintain a safe position but Vega gets an underhook and turns Meechum into the cage. Vega has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Meechum clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Meechum tries to escape but Vega has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vega controls the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vega continues to stall. Vega has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Meechum is in bad spot here.
Meechum is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Vega has good solid back control here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vincento Vega dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Danny Meechum's cut. That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Left hook, right uppercut from Vega. Vega rushes Meechum and presses him up against the cage. Vega tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Vega has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Meechum is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Vega slowing the pace effectively. Vega using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Meechum has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Meechum tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Vega wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vincento Vega. That's going to take a lot out of him. Meechum wants to break free but Vega has control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vega escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Vega gets a clinch. Vega keeps control of Meechum as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Meechum managing to block the knees to the body from Vega.
Vega can't get the takedown.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vega lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Vega manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
A right hook to the body lands for Vega.
Vega jumps guard and drags Meechum to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Meechum throws a strike but Vega rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Vincento Vega overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Vega decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Meechum darts in looking for a takedown but Vega gets double underhooks and turns Meechum into the cage. Crunch! Vega slams his shin into Meechum's torso. Vega lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Vega moves into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vega jumps guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Vega uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Vega drives through and clinches with Meechum against the cage.

Meechum trying to control the position from guard on top but Vega is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Vega manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Meechum manages to get himself to full guard.
Meechum manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Vincento Vega is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vega's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Vega lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Vega. Vega moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Meechum takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Vega instigates a clinch. Vega pulls guard effortlessly. Meechum won't allow Vega to get back to his feet. Meechum wants to control from the top but Vega keeps moving. Vega wants to stand up but Meechum is controlling him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vega keeping moving, preventing Meechum from controlling successfully. Vega is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Vega performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Vega stands up out of the half guard. Danny Meechum has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Vincento Vega is winning the standup battle so far. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Vega takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
And that's the end of the fight! Vincento Vega showed his dominance in that final round. Well Vega has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
